I know the rules, Bazin, but this site specifically limits you from entering impossible moves. I find this to be an annoying exception which could really confuse newcomers. By the way, I don't think it is possible to order those moves. They just appear on the drop-down menu. That means that anyone who doesn't know the rules would get misled and believe the site has a glitch. Then they would come complaining to the forums.

Read the rules? You don't go into a board game as complicated as diplomacy without at least a basic understanding of how the game works. I don't think it's a game that lends itself to learning as you go along, especially when FtF rules and such are applied. It's very easy to screw up.

Chris, the 'document' doesn't even mention that you can't convoy on coastal provinces: "You can use fleets to carry army units across sea territories, this is called a convoy. You can also string multiple convoys together to move an army unit large distances overseas in a single turn." Look, the point is that if Kestas hasn't noticed this yet, he should know about the problem.

That's fair enough then if the document doesn't mention it, although I'm pretty sure I've been given the option to convoy units through places like Rome when that is obviously not possible.

If you're given thew option to convoy, say, Naples-Tuscany, but you only have a fleet in Rome, then there has to be an enemy fleet in the Tyrrhenian.

The javascript order entry logic is brand new. Kestas will polish it up over time. It is good to point these things out so he knows about it. Might want to send him an email or better yet, go to the dev forum and post it in the bug section.

When you submit an order the server generates lists of valid order choices, using the same code it has used since 0.8, and any inputted form entries can only be selected if they exist in the list of valid choices. If you disabled the new JS code you'd see the old static HTML just like before, so if there are any bugs in new JS they won't allow any orders to be entered which couldn't be entered before.

As Alderian says I'll be updating the JS so that it reflects the correct server-generated options more closely as reports like this come in, so thanks for pointing this out. I'll fix this when I get a chance

Also I'm hoping to pretty soon disable the ability to fall back to server-generated options, which will only be used for validation in future (for optimization reasons), so it is important to get the order generation script right
