I agree with Octavious, we can start and if people need pause on the holidays, pause is automatically granted (by a Mod if needed).
If we wait to start on January, interest and comitment for the tournament could drop...

Alright, unless there is strong opposition forthcoming, Round 2 will start Saturday, December 3. At that time, I will send out the game titles and passwords to each player making the board, followed by game links and passwords when each board has been setup.

Good question, Code. My assumption is that the boards will be either finished or be closed to finished. If they are not done by the time the next board starts, some players will end up playing in two boards while most everyone else is in one board.

The 2nd round will be equally anonymous with no guarantees as to who you are playing. You might be playing someone you played in round 1 or you might be playing entirely different people.

I tried to have highly talented players playing each other over the course of the 3 rounds to allow for the toughest competition, however.

Couldn't agree more with ghug. Jmspool had a solo all but locked up but ssorenn was smart and convinced him that since it's PPSC, a solo doesn't matter. Since jmspool is pretty new, he bought soren's line of shit and settled. It was a disappointing game to be sure.

For the record, there was no convincing. I looked at the scoring and saw that a solo didn't buy me much, since I wasn't really competing against ssorenn in Germany as much as I was competing against the Turkeys in games 2 and 3. Since neither of them looked like they were going to solo, going for 17 versus 18 wasn't a big deal. But a dual 17/17 split meant that it was a 2-way draw, which was pretty awesome in its own right.

Mapu, if you're going to be angry at anyone, you need to be angry at me, not ssorenn. Though, I'm not sure what I've done to warrant anger.

Mapu Is just sniveling because we cut him out of the draw. And in the process I had to make moves to wipe all the pink from the board :p

If we do this next year, I think some adjustments need to be made to the scoring system.

The icon awarded to the winner should be an L7 to pay homage to the scoring system.

I'm willing to evaluate the system next year to incentivize soloing more, although I will say that this system can come down to a single point.
