Prestige is a form of compensation, and I'd say some mods have received that.

I was referrimg to the hardware and bandwidth and you know that, abge. Don't be disingenuous and intentionally obtuse. Kestas no longer has to pay for the server space and bandwidth out of his pocket.

People donate to this site because they enjoy the experience. While one part of that is the server, there are many others. The community at large, tournament directors, GR, and the mods are all factors as to why people donate.

We have a fund raising drive specifically aimed at getting us a dedicated server and bandwidth. Stop being intentionally obtuse. I am.just saying it is no longer Kestas' personal playground but belongs to the community at large.

I've removed the 14 days from those games which were extended, except for two which have moved on to the next phase, thanks for reminding me about that abge.

I have easily spent over 1,000 hours working as a mod for this site. Even at minimum wage, that's over $5,000. How much money have you given? Everyone contributes to the site differently, either through money, volunteer work, or just playing the game, but that does *not* mean the site is no longer kestas' to do with as he will.

Well then I giess on the next fund raising round I will bow out. To me, people contributing (including their time as you do as a mod) makes the site no longer one man's personal playground but, in fact, a community owned site.

People contribute to this site because kestas has made a good product and does not betray our trust by abusing his powers, but that is different than him not having them.

So now you can read people's minds? Look, I'm just trying to make a point that a tool was already there that would'v done the job nicelyband not resulted in the extended phases. But Kestas has fixed them now so all is good. Did I go over the top? Yes, intentionally so. It was the same OTT reaction as banning the players and extending the game phases was. And it made my point and got more conversation going about how this site has grown beyond it's humble beginnings or even where it was when I joined a few years back.

Draugnar, I get your point that there was a better tool Kestas could have utilized. And yes, I am in two league games FD just joined. But I don't see the point in getting so offended over something so trivial. This is just a game, art all.

As achillies27 said I started a few threads as "advertise your ...", maybe one or two, and two others ("hyperventillate here" and "bump this thread"). They were intended to be a joke since I was a little tipsy yesterday evening, I felt the motiviation to make separate threads for all the meme-like traditions we have around.

I don't think any of them is any more harmful then the "last person to post wins" type threads. As a matter of fact I think such phenomenons, like creating threads alike are sort of community builder. Yesterday many of us went along with the game, created and posted many comments and I think many of us let out substantial amount of steam. Which I think is good.

I'm not in the position to judge mod's (kestas') decision and act, actually I'm surprised I wasn't silenced as well (which sentence I gladly take, if that's the consequence) but I genuenly think yesterday evening's "spamming" was all but harmful, was all but an intentional forceclosing of other threads, or any kind of other type of hurting purpose. I maintain my position it was actually more of a community experience rather then a "crime". That's why I also think mod decisions should be not rock solid, and mods should be part of this community to make judgements based on their practice rather than rock-solid rules. As they usually do at many cases.

Anyways, I'm sorry for coming to the site tipsy (call it drunk) yesterday evening and starting an avalanche of insanity. There's no excuse for that, and I apologize for my action.
