People who can't even CDR right
How bothersome is it when someone misses two turns to CDR and everyone has been waiting for the cycles, then they visit the game again but do nothing so you have to wait two more days for them to CDR again. It can really put a parking brake on a game.

I want to play a new game, prefering rather experienced players.
I thought about 2 days/phase, 101 bet. I don´t really care if it is gunboat or classic game, you guys tell me what you would like better. Write, if you are interested.

Giants vs. Cowboys
The NFL Season Opener was last night; Giants vs. Cowboys. I myself am a big Giants fan and personally thought they should have won the game. The Cowboys committed over 12 penalties and even though it affected their yardage it was a main factor to why they won the game. Based on last nights performance I think that some of the penalty rules in the NFL need to be changed to stop things like this from happening again. What do you think? Leave your answer as a comment.

Interested in a 10 Minute Live Game?
Anyone want to play a 10 minute live game tonight? I enjoy live but 5 minute phases are a little too fast for negotiation. 10 minutes would take longer but it would be the happy medium for a serious game. Any takers?

@WarLegend I hate to break it to you bro, but it ended in a six way draw because you had your draw flag out. Its just as much your fault as anybody else.

I was france. My pretty much favorite country and good in gunboats so im encouraged.

1901 goes pretty well, britain and germany see friendly enough with their opening moves so i decide to take spain sc and build f mar. It works, but i dont get belgium, the third build i would have very much liked to have.
spring 1902 i move out against italy, but lose burgundy in the process. this will be the very beginning of a long and hard battle inside of france. In the fall move my convoy to tuscany succeds and germany moves out of belgium, so things are looking up for me.
Spring 1903; Ive been on good terms with england until he decides to take the channel with his fleet. I take rome from italy. In the fall, i sacrafice letting germany back in for bouncing england in brest. I take the tyrrenian and naples. I know its only a matter of time before i add italys centers to my count, but i have to survive in my homeland to make those count.
Spring 1904; I anticipate britains convoy to picardy and bounce him while preventing germany from taking burgundy, but he moves into gascony. I take a 50-50 risk in the autumn to bounce him out of spain and it pays off. I take tunis from italy and bounce britain out of brest, gving me the build in need to expel germany once and for all.
spring 1905 i take rome, but i missgues and rome and marseilles are both occupied ny italy and germany. I can only take one, so I decide to take italy out once and for all and give germany the build. I take and hold the ionian, protecting my italian conquests.
1906-1907 In these years i just squabble with germany over france and italy with austria. I make no gains, just like everyone ese on the baord.
The position isnt really changing, so when the opportunity to draw comes up in 1909, i do it, knowing i have lots of homework in need of finishing.

Wow, ok, that was long. Great game to all, had fun fighting on all sides. Hope to play with you guys again soon!

Hoped Italy would work with me against Turkey, and he was well under way until France moved south. Thankfully Russia jumped on board and we got him low.

I saw the potential stab and debated moving into Rumania at the same time Russia took Bulgaria, which set me back. My biggest mistake was building the third fleet. I knew it was a "mistake", but at the rate France was moving south, I decided I needed to take the gamble and try and secure another dot quick and get that next army, but this never happened.

I kept Italy alive as long as I could, but when he lost Venice and in a position where I thought he wouldn't get it back, I decided my best option was to take it for myself to prevent France the build (ironically, I believe Italy WOULD have taken it back as France decided to take another dot instead of securing Venice.

I was shocked that England and Germany let France run amok down south and put only a little bit of pressure on him throughout the game. I was banking on at least England making a move on him which would relieve some pressure on me and probably even let me take a couple of Italy's former dots for myself to bolster my ground army. Again, this never happened.

Eventually, I was facing direct attacks from Turkey, Russia, and France, and knew I couldn't withold it all, so I threw up my draw flag (leaving everyone except France with the draw up). I really didn't expect France to draw, and my hope for putting mine up was to hope it would cause Turkey to focus on Italy's southern fleets, and moreover, hope that England and Germany would take that opportunity to put pressure on France in order to force him to draw. I was hoping to take my draw off once they forced his fleets to pull back (and I was in a more secure position) so I could at least eliminate Turkey and Russia and perhaps even go for the win, depending on how it turned out.

Again, I was shocked France agreed to the draw as I thought he had potential to solo (not that I'm an expert). I really hate six-way draws, but I guess it's better than the potential elimination that I thought was a real possibility. All-in-all, I guess it was a decent result for the position I was in. I found the game really interesting, and I just with I would have went with my gut on those couple mistakes I made...it would have been interesting to see how differently it would have played out.

And when I said no pressure, I meant no big pressure. Sure, there were a couple of units in French homeland, but had England just popped into the NAO, It would have pretty much forced France to pull back from applying pressure to me, which would have let me finish Turkey and put pressure on and probably eliminate Russia.

Thanks for putting up with me for so long Skittles!

Yah, not much for me to say really. Things were looking good, nice Austria, no Juggernaut. Turkey didn't even build a fleet!. Then France moved South ( never even though about that convoy, never crossed my mind) I was hoping he'd move back once England bounced him, or England would come and pressure him but nope. Never happened. Sigh. Another lose in my string of Gunboat loses :/

Good game to the rest of you though, even if it was a 6 way draw.

I completely forgot about that army build from Turkey.

At the time, I was licking my chops. Italy opening lepanto, following through with it and not walking into Trieste, Russia moving SEV-RUM signaling he was hoping on board against Turkey, and THEN Turkey not building a fleet, guaranteeing we would be in the Agean and East med! What more could Austria hope for?

Than France built fleet Marsailles..grrr.

I got a bit nervous at the immediate move to spain SC but I too hoped that England bouncing Belgium would cause him to build fleet Brest and we could continue as planned. Alas, it wasn't meant to be.

I just looked at the maps, and I cant wait to see some of those EoGs.

That 4-dot Russia right where you expect him: warsaw, Berlin, Kiel, and Norway. No problem, he'll just get Moscow and StP back and make a great comeback.

That Austria opening...

Belgium being vacant until 1903.

Some good stuff there,

The separatist provincial party has unseated the incumbent Liberal Party. Seule à Canada...

Any opinions on what this will mean? A referendum is unlikely of course, but any predictions on what new restrictions on English will succeed, which of the PQ's fun social experiments will be unleashed on the province?

DNC blatantly ignores vote of delegates
I wouldn't normally bring this up, since I think that putting much importance on the secondary goings-on at a convention is irrelevant to anything real. But since there was much hullabaloo at this site over a couple things at the Republican convention (rules, seating of delegates, and the teleprompter vote call, which were all silly, sure enough),....
