Who will win the Heisman?
Statistically, Griffin III should be a shoe-in.

Richardson would be the #2, but he isn't even in the top 5 in rushing this season.

Sitter?
I need a sitter. I'm in two games, both of them at least 1 and a half days per phase.

I apologize to the people I am playing against. Real life has become too hectic for me to continue to play here.

I have been diagnosed with cancer. I have three months to live and will be spending it with family and friends. I will likely not get on site again. Thank you to those who welcomed me to the site. Sorry to those whom I abandoned in the game I am in. I will make it up sometime. I will play with all of you eventually. Diplomacy in the afterlife. Goodbye, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

That is very sad to hear Mr. Huron. I don't know what type of cancer and what the survival rate is but I would fight it if i could/were you. Either way thank you for being part of the community and i wish you the very best for the future. Cheers

Hard to give a sincere goodbye to someone you don't really know.

Harder yet on the internet where so many asses craving attention will post that sort of shit without thinking twice.

I'm still of the mind that wishing someone happiness is worth looking like a fool for a minute in a dumbasse's mind. So...

I'm sorry to hear that Sir Huron, and even more sorry I never got to know you. I wish that those who did will get the time to make their peace with you and that you will be surrounded by happiness and love in the times to come. May you suffer little, and know as much joy as one might!

Well, I look like a bit of a dick now.

Sorry to hear that, Huron. As Cach says, it's hard to find words when you don't know the person well, but I wish you the best of luck. It's actually nice to see you leave the site, because it means you have friends and family that you care about to spend your time with.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to beat you in a game Huron, but on the bright side, you never had a chance to lose to me. Have a great few months (doctors aren't always right, stay encouraged)
P.S. sorry, this is my personality

2 parts of me. One....A sincere, 100% complete heart-felt emotional release to a fellow player, a strategist, a gamer, an intellectual...a fellow human being with whom I share a great passion. To you, and to yours, I wish nothing but the best. Whether you understand it and agree with it or not, I do...and thus you must know that my prayers will seek your comfort and that of your family. I will not be so arrogant as to request your sudden healing...for as i have never moved a mountain, thus I suspect i can not ask for your particular illenss to be healed....but i can ask that you know that...in some way...you will be lost forever, and will leave in indelible mark. To those that love you, they must, too, know that you have left this mark upon others...

Fight, man, to your last. There is no other way to live, as you have died with your last SC....you leverage that last until it is ripped from you....and so I hope you fight until the end. Go out with your last entry of orders, though you say you are done. But I don't believe it...won't believe it...

Fight until the end...and love the things you love until you can no more.

We'll miss you , brother. And in all honesty, forever more I will know that this thing I pass on -- this game, this community -- is more than just a game...but is friends. Friends past, friends present...and, yes, perhaps friends, as you, that will pass on, but will not reside in our collective momories forever.

Thank you all for such kind words. To krellin, I will fight, I will fight until my money is gone and have tried all I can, and I hope a year from now I will still be here and can talk to you all. If not, onto the void I go where I will answer to God and see what He has in store for me. If that is the case, I hope to eventually see some of you again, though not too soon. Goodbye all. As they say in the Marines, Semper Fi, Carry on!

Come, my friends,
57'T is not too late to seek a newer world.
58Push off, and sitting well in order smite
59The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
60To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
61Of all the western stars, until I die.
62It may be that the gulfs will wash us down:
63It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
64And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.
65Tho' much is taken, much abides; and tho'
66We are not now that strength which in old days
67Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
68One equal temper of heroic hearts,
69Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
70To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Sail on, Sir Huron...and with the time you have left, never stop striving nor seeking...never yield...

You meet the greatest adventure of all, the Undiscovered Country, before us all...

We will all miss you...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Home Is Behind
The World Ahead
And There Are Many Paths To Tread
Through Shadow
To The Edge Of Night
Until The Stars Are All Aligth

The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.

My one regret is that I never got to know you. Be at peace and enjoy what time you have left, always fighting for more and more of it. Your family and friends are your greatest strength and your greatest asset is your will to continue. Fight and you may well beat this behemoth into submission. But if not, knwo the world was a better place because you were in it.
I am sorry to hear this Herr Huron. I hope for you a good time with your family, and pray that Wotan blesses you with a full recovery. Find peace my friend, with yourself and you family. Gods blessing...

What is the mods general opinion on the following subject?
One of our mods <*cough*>abgemacht<*cough*> has just stated that outside of the game deals (threats, bribes, etc.) aren't "a big deal" to him and he wouldn't do anything about them. I have a problem with this. What about the other mods? How do you all feel? Is this a tolerable activity?

No Messaging...?
I have noticed that there tend to be a lot of games that have only public messaging or no messaging at all... I was wondering why people would even play this type of variation in the first place. it seems to me to be equal to playing a game of poker with only half a deck of cards...

can someone explain the appeal to me please?

I am aware, that most of the best players communicate actively and frequently with everyone on the map, no matter seemingly irrelevant or outright foe. I have some questions for you:
1. What do you discuss with the countries you are fighting?
2. What do you discuss with countries on the other side of the map?
