For anyone worried about how long the game will take, I have changed the phase length to 36 hours and I would predict that with decent players, the whole game will tend to speed up as the first few get eliminated.

Not to discourage players joining of course. I'm tempted, but 250 is a little bit much for me and I'm kinda got my hands full with my current game commitments... Just saying, does the mid to late game stage really speed things up. Thinking about this, it could be a very long game for the remaining players in the mid to let game stages... months?

I expect the game to last for some time, but as it is not a Tournament game, there will be no pressure on the players. I do think things will speed up as a function of the reduction in players who might be unable/unwilling to finalise.

However, the added problem of writing and checking orders for up to 44+ SCs! brings this closer to a face-to-face where errors abound, and I am looking forward to that aspect.

I still urge you to reconsider joining. You have proved in the past that you are not only good enough but also willing to consider diplomacy as a very fluid feature of the game: changing sides/strategy in a World game is going to be quite common I think.

I'm the year above, and I got my Cambridge offer. However I didn't do enough work for my final set of exams, so I'm now at Warwick. Very foolishly indeed. I've worked out that the time went on writing a website as a favour for a friend, which could yet turn out to be the most expensive mistake of my life.

That is not good, but then again, one never knows how the cards will break. Warwick is not exactly the worst place to be and the next part of your journey will always tend to be the more important. Post Grad for example...
