MY first system was the original Gameboy... I got it when I was 6 or 7.
It had (has, still have it in GREAT condition, keep it in it's case... a beauty to look at all these years later, works like a dream) black finish, not the traditional white.
I loved that thing... I remember playing it all the time, especially when I was 7 and my family was moving to another house- nothing shuts up a 7-year old looking at blank old houses like vintage Pac-Man or Star Wars or Mega Man 2 on the Gameboy... ah... :D
From there:
-SNES: Great system loved it... folks got rid of it a few years back, miss that thing... EVERY GAME for that thing I had was great, Star Wars and Super Metroid (I had a space thing as a kid, still do lol) and Killer Instinct... even The Lion King was great
-N64: Still have it, got it after I got out of the hospital for my 8th birthday or so... I'd had Chron's Disease and a STROKE that nearly killed me, and they thought I'd be lucky to walk again- I was RUNNING down the hall withing a week or two... :D Great games, more Star Wars Games, Ken Griffey, Jr. Major League Baseball, Mario Party 2, Star Fox 64... Super Smash Brothers... I'll never get rid of that thing, just because of the circumstances I got it under...
-Gameboy Advance: Still have it... a few games for it were fun...
-Playstation: Gone to Game Console Heaven, died years back... but the games were fun, and for a while I liked Sony over Nintendo...
-XBOX: Parents said one game system more, and that's it... and I never played with this one too much, just didn't like the games... now resting, pretty unused, at Grandma's house...
-Playstation2: Got this to replace the dead Playstation (this, again, was "the last game system") and I still have a ton of games for this one... many hours spent playing Worms Forts: Under Siege and Madden and NHL and MLB and the like... still have this one
-GameCube: Do I need to mention this was, again, the "last system?" Super Mario Sunshine got a lot of play time, and Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Mario Part 7, and Super Smash Brothers: Melee... a lot of Mario games... still have it
-Nintendo DS: This thing seemed so amazing when I got it, and still fun... Super Mario 64 DS was always fun, but Advance Wars: DS consumed most of my time, and occasionally still does. It took me a few days, but I made for the game's three custom maps Western Europe 1939, Eastern Europe 1939, and The Pacific 1939... and WWII broke out so often. I had a lot of nations to play as- Nazi Germany was there, Italy, France, Britain, the US, USSR, China, and Japan, all with historically accurate city and factory locations and troops (ex. Germany had big Panzer tanks and a lot of fighters for the Lufftwafte, The UK's RAF matched theirs well, the Soviets had a huge army, America and the Japanese had great naval carriers, infantry, and air forces... I still remember the first game I ever simulated/played: Briatian LOST The Battle of Britain to a large extent, as everything West of Liverpool was German and Nazi Bombers were hitting New York as paratroopers captured Philadephia... the USSR held Germany for a long time, but eventually the army broke and retreated South... America entered the war after NYC, not Pearl Harbor, was bombed, and the Pacific war was long and drawn out, but ended with the total destruction of the Imperial Navy and Air Force and capture (as opposed to the Bomb, which wasn't ready) of their captial and homeland, at heavy cost to their forces... once Japan fell, America didn't have to fight two fronts, and that, combined with the ridiculously heroic Royal Air Force (pretty much all that saved Britain from going under three years ago in 1941) helped the Allies turn the tide. By 1945, no Germans were in either America or Britian, with London being recaptured in November 1945. The last part of 1945 and 1946 was a D-Day like taking back of Spain, France, and shelling Germany by land (artillery) air (bombers) and sea (battleships.) Finally, Berlin fell in December 1947, and the Allies, albeit a little later and with a LOT more loss and damage, won World War II. (How's THAT for a replay of history?) :p
-XBox 360: Gone, two of them died on me... baseball games were fun on it...
-Wii: This consumed my whole family, and still has a bit... LOVE IT
-PS3: Fun, with Madden, baseball... and Beatles Rock Band! :D
So that's my video game history...
And the Alternate History of WWII... your turn (comment!) :p
