Stat Tracker? (Per Country)
I am always interested in diplomacy statistics, and I am curious to know if there is anyway to gather up stats based on your country on this website? It would be neat to see those numbers. (90% Win as Russia, 76% Defeated as Austria, 14% Drawn as England)

Does this variant exist?
I don't know if this is practical for online web engines, but I've always wanted to play an "honorable gentleman" variant. As in, a player is required to actually declare a state of war before ordering an attack on another player's territory. This could happen at any time before the attack orders are actually executed. Thoughts?

1 hour game tomorrow (Saturday)
Hello! I would like to try out a 1 hour game tomorrow if anyone's interested, since I will be home all day. I suggest 10 AM CEST. I suck at the right names for time zones, so to put it simply, 9 AM in London, 4 PM in Singapore and way too early in the USA (4 AM in New York, sorry everyone from overseas). I could be flexible of course, but I would like to hear if anyone's interested first. Anyone who's serious and won't want to pause the game in autumn 1901 is of course welcome.

Away for weekend.
I only have one game I need covered, and I am winning. All I need is for someone to enter in orders this saturday and sunday, without finalizing. That way I only miss two turns. Can anyone do this for me?

Send me a message or reply to this post, and I will send you details.

Free tactical advice to noobs
I don't know why I'm doing this - or rather, I do know why I'm doing it but I'm not going to admit it. :-) But I think the game is better if there's more rookie players survive to become experienced players, so here's some free, unsolicited advice...

Question about rules - Possible Bug
Hi guys, in my game Training Day (http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=12170) I am playing turkey and in Autumn 1909 I lost Smyrna to the Italians. They attacked with one fleet and one support, I defended with my own Smyrna fleet and one support. My support came from the Aegean Sea, that was itself supported by Greece and Smyrna, and the Italians apparently were able to cut that support with one attack from the Ionian.

"Scorched Earth" Who wants to take over Turkey?
Turkey is in CD and we need a 7th player. Nothing much happened so far, it's only spring 02 and a new player would still have every chance to take over Europe. Some countries are already longing for a Turkish ally and a new Sultan...

Is F Finland support F Norway -> St. Petersburg (NC) a legal move?
I believe it's legal in the board game, but the game doesn't let you specify a support into NC but lets you specify support into Stp. Will it work?
trip (696 D(B))
06 Aug 09 UTC
it doesn't let you specify north coast because that support is not possible.
mdruskin (2062 D)
06 Aug 09 UTC
So basically a fleet in finalnd cannot support a fleet move from norway to Stp?

This is a legal move in the board game.
mdruskin (2062 D)

Can F Finland support hold a Fleet in NC Stp?
Sirither (100 D)
06 Aug 09 UTC
I believe that trip is mistaken. This support move should work (as will the support hold).

You are not given an option for support to NC/SC because only NC is possible.
Centurian (3257 D)
06 Aug 09 UTC
coasts never matter for supports, thus it would work
Chrispminis (916 D)
06 Aug 09 UTC
Yes it would work. trip is mistaken.

The coast doesn't matter for the support, so the option is irrelevant.
trip (696 D(B))

really? so a fleet in rum can support aeg to bulg, and a fleet in mars could support mao to nc spain?

...i feel dumb...
EdiBirsan (1469 D(B))
06 Aug 09 UTC
If you are adjacent to the province and can move there directly, then you can support an action into that province. If the target province has two coasts it does not matter if you cannot reach the coast of the specific attack since the support is only to attack the target PROVINCE>/
Toby Bartels (361 D)

@ mdruskin

Yes, it will work (also the support hold). I've done this (not at StP, but at Spain) using this software, and it worked.

It's a little nerve-wracking, seeing your move order and your support order in front of you, and they don't quite match. But it works.
mdruskin (2062 D)
06 Aug 09 UTC
But how do I order it in the game? Just select Stp with no coasts and it would work?
Toby Bartels (361 D)
06 Aug 09 UTC
Yes, that's right.
Jamiet99uk (865 D)

It is worth remembering that this doesn't work both ways. For example, a fleet at Gascony can support a move to Spain (SC) but a fleet at Spain (SC) cannot support a move to Gascony.
Draugnar (0 DX)
06 Aug 09 UTC
Just remember coasts are the same as the province itself, they only affect actions of the fleets sitting in them by limiting their moves and supports or fleetts attempting to move to them by limiting which coast they can move to based on where they currently reside.
JECE (1248 D)
07 Aug 09 UTC
In other words, if you can't move to Gascony, you can't support a hold at or move to Gascony. If you can move to St. Peterburg, you can support a hold at or move to St. Peterburg.
