braddles and Gisset are the perfect example of why I can't just log IP addresses and ban every pair of accounts that has used the same IP.
I also can't ban based on cooperation, because some people might be friends outside of phpdiplomacy.net or might have developed mutual trust, and there's nothing too damaging about that.
I think the points system, and perhaps something that logs a range of things like cookies, user agents, logon times, IPs, etc, and combines them all to let me know when two accounts are suspiciously similar, would make having more than one account too difficult to be worthwhile.
I expected I'd have a new release out by now, but trust me no-one regrets having no free time over the holidays to work on my own projects more than I do. Hopefully over the longer holidays coming up in 14 weeks I'll be able to get some serious work into phpDip, perhaps with a few small features trickling in before then.
If the alleged multi-accounts make things unbearable you can join only organized password protected games, write some good code that logs various browser details and highlights suspicious stuff, or subscribe to the mailing list here [ http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=125692 ] to be notified when 0.8 is out.
