Bird with Beard wins Eurovision Song Contest

People just can't be bothered to shave anymore, even for big events like the Eurovision Song Contest, I didn't think the song was that good but the beard I would give top marks.

Game 1: lol @ u, 7-way draw, I was about to get shit on hard by Austria as Italy (gameID=139247)
Game 2: lol @ me, WarLegend solos as Germany, I got dunked hard by Germany as Russia (gameID=139248)

I still suck as Russia at gunboat and have no idea how to play it. Felt like my Italy game wasn't awful, but Austria psyched me out on S02 with blocking the Albania convoy and the rest was history there. Turned it into a Lepanto, but I'd lost two years of momentum and Austria naturally got his shit taken care of quicker.

If you played post your thoughts here! If you didn't go ahead anyway!

Calculated risk, didn't work. If Austria had allied with me based off of that then I think we manage to break through into Turkey and I maybe survive the game or force a draw.

I am wondering if the risk was worth it, though. Austrians tend to like getting after Romania in 1902 in gunboat from what I can see. Might just be better to run the Juggernaut by default since Austria's so powerful in gb. Still gotta hope for a friend in the north but you'll at least not lose ground in the south.

I gotta ask: Army in St.P? Then sending it on a long, long walk to Sev seems a problem. I could see two fleets up north that stay put and prevent the German stab, although once England goes bye (which took a while) you kind of know what is coming next

I played as Italy in game 2, and I had no idea how to play as Italy without full press. I ended up oscillating loyalties too much, I think, and despite a desire to push against France I didn't really want to risk a Franco-Austrian attack at the same time, since it was clear that France and Germany were working together for a while.

PE, you're a better gunboater than I am, so I'm glad to know my struggles with Russia aren't just me. Basically whenever I've had luck as Russia, in gunboat or in press, it's been because someone else let me run them over. I came here though to say that I think the juggernaut is quite overrated in gunboat since Turkey has so many advantages against you after 1902-3 and that, if you play it right, attacking Turkey in 1902 can offer you a significant advantage. I may try it sometime.

Creating a game based on GR

I was 112 in April and I'm 353 overall. I'd like to play with some people ranked higher than me.

The game would be full-press (it's all I really play). Everything else is up for discussion: anon/non-anon, buy-in, PPSC/WTA, and length. Personally, I prefer 3-4 days, but I could do 2 if people wanted. Who's interested?

A Third Pary Run in 2016?

Couple years off, obviously, but still, allow me to float a hypothetical--Rand Paul, like his father before him, obviously is a big enough name to run for office...and, like his father, might not be a perfect fit for the big business-happy GOP as a whole. That being said, he's younger and potentially a hotter candidate than his father was, so, let's say Rand Paul runs as a third party candidate vs. Hillary and *insert flavor of the month GOP candidate here.* How would that race go?

A Few rules questions (Sorry if you'd heard these questions before)

If you perform a support hold on an army that attempted to move to a different location but failed (therefore it hasnt moved), will the support hold fail because the initial orders were not to hold?

Also, if army 1 is supporting army 2 and is being support held by army 3, yet army 1 gets attacked, does his support of army 2 fail or stay since army 1 is being support held by army 3? (sorry if that was confusing)

He who shall not be named is the only user I have ever muted, and as page loading is very slow on the train, I saw flash before the mute was applied a PM to me from my "friend": "Another asshole that pretends he mutes people....just another fucktard, aren't you?"
