Variant?
New variant idea with alot of changes to Classic. would add to the naval combat substantially and would intentionally reduce ground forces at the start of the game changing possibly the direction the countries attacked at turn 0

Challenge
I am looking for experienced players to play against so I can learn more and better myself? I realize i am relatively new but I think I have a valid argument for why I should be given the chance. Looking for a classic, PPSC, ANON no messaging game.

Hi,

Has anyone else noticed that the orders you've put in the past week, are often not what happens?

So, I was approaching this line-up at a convenience store or at least I thought I was...
...I guess the problem was I didn't know if I was going to the front or the back of the line because the clerk/owner was turned around on a stool...

So a girl isn't sure about 'breaking up' with a guy and I help her figure it out..
I think I've done it pretty much by the book, but I can't ignore the fact that there's quite a bias: I really like her, and I don't like him. So breaking up happens to be in my favour.
What I wonder is: does this make it wrong? At least consciously, the only thing I care about is helping her do the right thing, and there's definitely something 'cold' between them that wouldn't be there if they love eachother.. I'm pretty sure it would end at some point anyway..

Virginia Woolf, in a League and Room of Her Own as the last female author standing! Victor Hugo, Master of Notre Dame! Poe, who's looking to be eliminated nevermore! Dumas, out-dueling all comers! Classic Chaos
This site needs the "Classic Chaos" variant from Vdiplomacy. I would play it at Vdip but it's next to impossible to start a chaos game there.

Government subsidized phones don't have a texting plan.

When it comes down to it, modern job searching requires three things:

1. Access to the Internet
2. The knowledge of how to use the Internet
3. A means of direct communication

Its pretty well known that nos. 1 and 2 are lacking, at least in my experience - a lot of poor individuals lack the basic skills necessary to even type or create an email account, much less navigate an internet search or create an online resume. The move to electronic applications for nearly all job fields has left a lot of people behind.

No. 3 is certainly up for debate, but consider this - even not having a texting plan on subsidized phone contracts, a cell phone is infinitely more useful to someone looking for a job than a landline, especially if that person doesn't have internet access at home. The Venn diagram of people with a subsidized phone and who do not have internet access probably has quite a bit of overlap. If you're one of these individuals, you can't afford to be tied down at home while you are out looking for work. If I'm an employer and I call two people, one with a cell and one with a landline, I'm not going to wait around for the landline to call me back or get my message. Landlines with answering machines may have worked fine for everyone for 50+ years, but that era is long gone.

Also, bump.

So on one hand you're saying those who use the government-subsidized phones don't have the knowledge to make e-mail accounts, and then expect them to be in the types of jobs that are quick and cut-throat and require them to be on the internet and have a cell phone?

Can't have it both ways.

Locust – can you LocateMyAnus? Or better yet, can you locate your friend’s anus?
LocusAmoenus (100 D)

Instead of being government-subsidized, it can work like a loan. Government gives you a phone (a simple one), but you have to return the money later.

Locus, I regret to inform you that krellin probably is not drunk, just rather aggressive. Think of him as the Bill O'Reiley of webdip.
krellin (80 DX)
20 Jun 14 UTC
Locust - actually, I'm at work at the moment and definitely not drunk. As a former alcoholic know for his liquid-fuel induced rages-threads...you'vehardly felt my true potential. But, pleasantly sober now, I'm just a regular run-of-the-mill asshole, as opposed to a drunk.

sorry to disappoint.

anyway - you still haven't answered my question.

LocateMyAnus – what I do here on my free time is pester you – I do it when the troglodytes are taking their cancer breaks. But…I see by your degenerating English that you are probably beginning to froth at the mouth in anger again…leading everyone with an eye to see that, indeed, you probably have failed to locate your ass…I presume by this you would mean that cute guy down the way, and he keeps playing hard to get (or he may just be repulsed by you…) and this just has you in all sorts of confusion…

LocusAmoenus (100 D)

LocateAnus - do you have any regional hemorrhoid treatments we might be intereted in?
krellin (80 DX)

Very minor bug
Very minor issue that probably doesn't affect many people. If you sign in to a banned account (I created an account in error near the beginning, forgetting that I already had one), there's no 'log out' button. I needed to clear the cookies in order to sign in with my real one. Not a big issue but figured it was worth mentioning.
