F Sev move to ?
Can a fleet in Sevastopol move along the coast to Bulgaria or Constantinople? Or is it limited to movement into the black sea and Romania?

Cars
So I just got my permit today, and I'm wondering what some of your favorite cars are. First cars? Absolutely terrible piece of crap cars? Any cars, but a story to go along with them is appreciated:]

all moves are ready, but the game does not continue
In game 14191 we have all placed our orders, and all have the green ticks to confirm this, but the game is still waiting for the time out before continuing. It's been doing this for quite a few turns by now. What can we do?

What percentage of games have a winner?
I was wondering what the probability was that in any given game you would win. I thought it was just one divided by seven, which gives you 14.285714 repeating %. But then I remembered that games can end in a draw. But I don't know what percentage of games end in a draw, so I couldn't advance further. Without this statistic, we can't say much more than that you have a less than 14% chance of winning.

Ankara Crescent
We'll be using the 1816 rule book, so make sure you read up because the rules changed quite a bit in the last 200 years.

I'll start us off by using the standard Dutch opening (munich to belgium).

Which leaves all of Asia Minor empty, allowing me to play

Ankara Crescent

Same rules for the next game?

Darn it. We have a winner.
I fancy a go at the Saxe-Coburg variation. Anyone up for it?
girmo (100 D)
14 Nov 09 UTC
I would love to. If I remmber corectly, you can choose your district. So I choose Hildburghausen, as it has some cool options at mid game.
Are we using the duke rules? I never got them right. Can someone explein me them please?
Parallelopiped (691 D)
14 Nov 09 UTC
We're not using the Duke rule unless someone has a Hammond Organ for the Summer Recess movement.
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)

Let's avoid Duke rules.

You can get there by a train - it leaves at midnight.
girmo (100 D)
15 Nov 09 UTC
Very well, I move Munich-Augsborg by foot, and because I have arrived at June, I can build a train line between Bavaria to Switzerland.
If I remmber correctly, I am getting the Summer Trade Turn to by a Mars Bar.
Parallelopiped (691 D)
15 Nov 09 UTC
That is correct - I continue to Vienna on the Orient Express
girmo (100 D)
16 Nov 09 UTC
Well then, you probbly didnt think of the Farmers rule (page 8, paragraph 1), which says that my infentry is stronger on Fall, so I can move to Tyrolia.
rlumley (0 DX)
16 Nov 09 UTC
Since girmo misspelled infantry, his move is unfortunately invalidated, since it would have allowed me to play Ankaran Crescent, but I suppose I'm left with no choice but to move to

Moscow.
Parallelopiped (691 D)

I call a Boney-M repeat move with "Oh, those Russians" and move, with Rasputin in a ra-ra skirt to the Caspian Sea and thence to Georgia.

Via the Lurker's Exception (adopted at the 1458 rules convention in Rome and grandfathered in to the 1816 Swiss variation on its original piece of Gruyere) I move to the Adriatic with my flotilla of orange juice cans, thus interrupting Parallelopiped's holiday, and forcing him to fend off an angry Roman mob for 3 turns.
Pete U (293 D)

I obviously have to try Menchkin's Underused Sea Gambit and head to

Heligoland Bight
jarrah (185 D)
17 Nov 09 UTC
Oh, Pete, that move deserves an exclamation mark. The veteran fortification points afforded by adding the "i" in Heligoland blight may well win you this game if you follow up smartly.
Pete U (293 D)
17 Nov 09 UTC
Thanks Jarrah, but now you've spotted that, someone should be able to make the correct blocking move....
girmo (100 D)
17 Nov 09 UTC
As my spelling is so bad, I would move to Rome, as it is realy easy to spell.
Oh, and have you heared about the 1845 deeplomanci version, which gives you bonus points if you misspell your orders?
Maniac (184 D(B))
17 Nov 09 UTC
I will unleash the little know Chris Rea travel plan on proceed along the Road to Heligoland Bight.

As an aside I once went to a concert where Chris Rea joined Dire Straits on stage, there were rumours that they would form some kind of super group, I thought they were good apart but together they were shit.
