And there's no shame in being American, denis- we have a black eye internationally now, but that's what you get after eight years of Darth Cheney in power (he really seems like the power behind Bush... and he REALLY scares me sometimes, the man is in love with violence and death, he almost seems to drool for it.)

And America is NOT under socialist control; I'm so sick of all you Obama-bashers saying such things. You had eight years to screw with this country however you wanted, Republicans- and you'll be re-elected someday again. But for now, let the elected man, fair and square, do his job. The Rep. in Congress seem determined to see Obama fail over actually helping America, or even trying to help, they just want Obama to fail. That's not leadership, that's not a country united- that's a group of eight year olds angry they weren't chosesn for a game and now they need to ruin that game for everyone.

@obiwan - stop assuming that all republicans are represented by extermist assholes like Diplofool/The_Master_Warrior. Please, most of us are more reasonable than that. I think Obama was the lesser of two evils, personally, but had the Republican ticket had Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter, or even Ron Paul (any one in place of McCain, or better yet TWO of them), I would have voted Republican. McCain was the worst choice as he meant 4 more years of Bush olicies and an even scarier plan for the healthcare/insurance crisis and Palin was beyond scary. To think she could have potentially held the highest seat in the country...

@Denis: "Canuck" is a general term for Canadians. It is used by the hockey team in Vancouver, but applies to all of us. (There was a time when it was considered derogatory, especially when used by outsiders, but I think that is long passed.)

I apologize for getting off topic also, but I've never heard of Cheney as the guiding force behind Bush, although, it seems reasonable. I thought Karl Rove was behind him more than Cheney.

Victor Harbor, a sea side village between two rivers by the sea in South Australia, great fishin', sailin' & surfin', we "host" a schoolies invasion each summer & lots of other tourists, it's also a popular retirement destination, so could be also called "Gods waiting room". I spend most of the year in the "bush" or the outback helping find and "prove up" Gold, Copper & Uranium deposits. It's amazing seeing what is under the surface, for example, layers of pure white "beach sand" from 80 metres down that was a beach 40 to 50 million years ago. Deepest hole "logged" so far approx 1200 metres. So i am extremely sceptical about the claims made by the "creationists". I would like to do some work on deep geo thermal "hot rock" exploration, getting down 2,000 & 3,000 plus metres. Working with Drill teams & lady geologists is fun and the country is beautiful, harsh, remote & ancient, no place to mess up & get hurt or bitten by a snake.

Alberta Canada home of the Rednecks, oil wells and cold ass winters. I cant think of a better way to spend a -35 c day than staying inside and playing Diplomacy with people from all over the world. And I would proudly call my self a Canuck any day but not a fan of the Vancouver Canucks. Go Tampa bay Lighting.
