This is useless because you won't even consider what I am saying.

Do I think that smoking marijuana is the best thing for me? Of course not, there are lots of negatives to it. However, I am confident that it is not worth worrying about nearly as much as you are. If you don't like it, don't use it. But please stop judging the people who choose to. As tendmote said, my life is my business and I would prefer to do what I want to do and think freely than be constrained by people telling me how I should act.

I don't like that by using weed I support the Hell's Angels via chainof supply. Apart from this, I have no regrets.

It's the same story with the pot lovers. They trot out absolute bullshit and claim this is scientific evidence that their side is right, and they dismiss medical studies saying anything to the contrary. It's the "anything but marijuana" defense. Oh withdrawal causes anxiety? Oh no it doesn't you were anxious before you smoked weed. Where did you get this from? No where. The coroner who examined the woman who died from marijuana must be wrong because a bunch of HuffPost pundits who didn't examine her said he was wrong.
ssorenn (0 DX)

It's also disreputable and ungentlemanly. Escapism makes you a pawn.

Again no,

"Anxiety, Depression, Mood Swings,"

You could say this about any withdrawal so I guess no drugs cause withdrawal. The marijuana argument is flawless.

46 is a perfectly reasonable sample size for such a study.

Another favorite tactic. Insist that you're so open-minded to other people's points of view while you dismiss even the possibility that a coroner could be correct about a marijuana overdose.
ssorenn (0 DX)
01 Sep 14 UTC
there is no physical withdrawal from pot, maybe, psychological but not physical
Maybe the weed in her system was the straw that broke the camel's back. But it wasn't an overdose, that is admitted in the article itself.

Do whatever you want with your life Putin, but your allergy to fun is going to kill you far before my addiction to marijuana kills me.
Putin33 (111 D)
01 Sep 14 UTC
Tell that to people who experience insomnia, night sweats, headaches, eating disorders, tremors, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, etc.
Putin33 (111 D)
01 Sep 14 UTC
The article quoted skeptics from Huffington Post. You know, those objective people who post pictures of pandas to mock the notion of marijuana overdose.

The actual article quoted the coroner and Sherriff claiming the woman died from marijuana toxicity.

" but your allergy to fun is going to kill you far before my addiction to marijuana kills me."

I have fun reading dictionaries. You need to assault your brain with dangerous chemicals in order to have fun. You're far more bored than I am.
Putin33 (111 D)

The marijuana lobby has become the gun lobby. Even if the evidence stares them in the face, they will blame it on everything else except their beloved hobby.
LOL. K man, if that's the analogy you want to make go ahead but I am actually fairly offended by that. Anecdotal evidence is not really evidence, but when one of my friends complains of these things I'll take it seriously Until then, I will rest easy knowing that 95% of my close friends smoke marijuana ~once per week and none of them have any problems whether it the things you describe or even simply succeeded with their life goals.

Anyway, I've had enough of this. Time to smoke a joint and get some exercise. Enjoy your day reading the dictionary Putin.

One could argue that since the brain *evolved* with receptors to the chemicals in cannibus, and that there is a subsequent joyful response to filling said chemical receptors with the appropriate chemical - that these are hardly dangerous chemicals, but are in fact evolutionarily evolved pleasure centers.

Just like fast cars, alcohol, sky diving, mountain climbing, etc etc etc marijuana is only dangerous when **abused**.

Hypocrites claim marijuana is evil and should be banished, end yet all most to a man these same hypocrites will do any or all of the following: drink alcohol, take any prescription drugs (which often times have terrible side effects, including the slow death of your liver or other organs...yes, that includes motrin and many other "daily use" pain meds), eat twinkies or any other crap that is not strictly healthy. I'm tired of having to listen to the holier-than-thou hypocrites telling me what manner of fun I am/am not allowed to partake in....especially since most of these hypocrites are the same jack-booted thugs that want the government to enforce their prescribed brand of living at the point of a gun.

@krellin The original post in this thread asks if it's respectable, and gentlemanly. So, "no", and "no". Anyway, y'all can do what you want, except blow it in someones face, Thucydides, you aggressive asshole imposing your chemical choices on someone else. You're reinforcing you "Charles Manson" vibe there, hoss.

"If you haven't par taken, maybe you should not comment."

Characterizing recreational drugs as some kind of sacred mystery *also* reinforces the Charles Manson vibe. You're full of shit.

Your drawing a comparison to Charles Manson from smoking of pot? You a fucking moron. Get a life douchebag. Hahaha

For what it's worth, tendmote is correct in that this is essentially a style question.

I bring that up not to discourage any of the subsequent medical/political debate, but rather that so the rest of us can at least acknowledge that there was a point in here somewhere.

=-)

As far as your pawn comment, I've smoked pot for 30 + years! and I'm no ones pawn. I'm probably more successful than most here on an economic level. So there debunks your theory.
ssorenn (0 DX)
01 Sep 14 UTC
@al, and your point is? What style, you either want to consume or not...nothing wrong with either....drink booze or not, smoke cigarettes or not....NO BODY cares. Enjoy your life the way you see fit.

@ssorenn Learn to read *and* understand. I did not draw a "comparison to Charles Manson from smoking of pot". Here's what I was referring two, AGAIN:

"blow it in putins face"

Blowing weed smoke in someone's face is Charles Manson-ish.

"If you haven't par taken, maybe you should not comment."

Describing recreational drugs as some kind of sacred initiation is Charles Manson-ish.

There. Understand now?

Smoking pot by itself, it just dumb. Do it if you want. Or don't. But it's neither gentlemanly or respectable, to get back to the point of this thread. Smoking weed is idiotic.
ssorenn (0 DX)
01 Sep 14 UTC
Who is to say if it's respectable? You? I think not.
ssorenn (0 DX)

Blowing weed in someone's face, is Charles mansonish how?
tendmote (100 D(B))

It is Charles Manson-ish in that it is an aggressive act and undermines another person's choice to not "partake" in your horseshit cult.

@ssorenn,

Could you consider dialing it down a notch, my friend? The rest of my friends here are having a very lively and friendly discussion. If you're in a bad mood, couldn't you do your best to cheer up a bit?

@Thucy "i would smoke weed with krellin, and blow it in putins face......i mean i would rather also smoke weed with putin "

Actually, Thucy, you'd much rather smoke weed with me. Despite whatever you think of me, I assure you I'd be far more fun to be with passing a finely craft water bong around while chillin' to some appropriate tunes and talking philosophy...or whatever the hell else comes about in the verbal rotation. You may see me in whatever light you choose based upon the perverted "relationship" we have here, but I assure you it is a wrong perception.
krellin (80 DX)
01 Sep 14 UTC
Tendmote - if he is blowin' smoke in your face (while generally a frwned upon behavior) the notion that he is 'forcing" you to endure his chemical choices is ludicrous. if you don't want to be around the smoke - get the hell outta the room, bro, becuse you're harshin' our buzz - and that makes you the ass, not Thucy.

The Goose Public Press Series
Hi all, as you may know, I've always been a huge fan of public press games. I was hoping to get a 7 game series started where you play public press as each country. Non-anon. 48 hour phase 10 point buy-in. If you think you have what it takes to send subliminal messages to your neighbors, post below.

Kazakhstan on the Modern II Map
Er. The Caspian Sea works as an ocean spot, correct? And Kazakhstan is adjacent to it.
Why can't I convoy to Kazakhstan then? I can convoy to Caucasus, Volga, etc. but not Kazakhstan. Even with a fleet in the Caspian, moving an army from Iran to Kazakhstan works without asking for "via land" or "via convoy".

Is this a known error/glitch/bug?

The Great Pot Debate
No, not another de-criminalisation thread.
Just a suggestion that, for replacement players, the contribution of points to the 'pot' should be abated by the amount of the defaulting player's initial contribution. So, with an original bet size of, say, 40, a 6-SC power would cost just 24 to take over, while a 3-SC power would cost nothing.
This would provide an incentive for substitutes to come forward.
