Oh, I'm not saying it's not difficult. Making the goalie the same size as the goal undoubtedly makes it tricky, as does taking the sport of hockey and putting it on ice. But, much like the luge doubles event, it's more quirky than sporty. And, personally speaking, I would have preferred ice rugby or ice American football to ice hockey.

You think so? Clearly ice skates would have to be replaced by some form of shoe (similar to those warn in curling, perhaps) and similar clothing to that in ice hockey would be wise, but I don't see why it would be inherently dangerous.

Slovenia beating Slovakia has to be a huge surprise. I mean they were talking before the games about how much Slovenia would lose by, and would it be a record. They were only down 1 to Russia quite late in the game and now beat Slovakia. And this country only has 1,000 registered hockey players.

Maybe Finland (that'd be nice for Teemu) but I'll take Quick/Miller over whoever they have in goal any day...the Russians have a better offense and Canada's Canada.

Rask played terrible vs Austria, so yes.

Although the best goalie of the tournament is Swiss, who nobody is paying attention to.

I think that call was pretty lame. Right before it was that shot that hit off the cross-bar but they never replayed it due to the ensuing "goal". That's what knocked the net out of place. If there is no way for Russia to score a goal at that point, they need to stop play and replace the net.

And what's to stop the goalie from "accidentally" kicking the net out of place so that the other team will never be able to score?

I agree Mapu. Dubious goal. Russia has every right to be angry. USA should not gloat too much about this one.

Fortunately for Russia they might still get a bye.

One bad game... He's a front runner for this years Vezina (Bishop is his only contender).

I'm sorry but Hiller is not the best goalie in the tournament.

Two games, two shut outs. NHL regular season is irrelevant. Fleury is a great regular season goalie, but his post-season woes are such that he didn't even make the Olympic team.

Rask was 2 games away from winning Vezina last year...
You can't call him a regular season goalie, he's more then proven himself as one of, if not the best goalie in the league, and one bad game against Austria is not going to change that.
