Your "limited knowledge of football," Fasces?
You are making judgments about the greatest of the greats with a limited knowledge?'
Isn't that like performing surgery with the extent of your medical knowledge being a PhD in House M.D.-ology? ;)
To begin with:
That "1 off game" was a SUPER BOWL, it wasn't like he had a bad day in a completely meaningless game, he had a bad day in a game that would have finished a perfect season and clinched a Super Bowl win four his team, the fourth of the decade for the Pats and, once again, its a game he was so cocky about that he laughed off the Giants when they predicted a 201-7 win, LAUGHING athe the NOTION that he would only score 17

...when he ended up scoring LESS THAN THAT!
As for MONTANA, you asked what he did those other 11 years? Well, 1 year injured--same as Brady--and one year missed the playoffs--same as Brady--and the other years he made the playoffs and aws consistently one and often the best QB in the league in an era when Dan Marino, Warren Moon, John Elway, and Jim Kelly--all fellow Hall of Famers--were also playing.
He ALSO made the AFC Championship Game with the Chiefs in 1994, thus making the playoffs and nearly the Super Bowl with ANOTHER team, something BRADY has not done (so for those who argue "system QB" against Montana, remember that Brady, then, by that logic, would automatically lose out to Montana, as Montana had 3 coaches in his career, Walsh, Seifert, and whoever the hell was with KC when he was there, and Brady has only ever had one coach and one system.)
And Joe Montana was 4-0 in the Super Bowl over his span, NOT 3-0, thus he DOES beat out Brady even on the numbers, a perfect 4-0 to an imperfect 3-1!
Throw in the fact MONTANA has THREE Super Bowl MVPs--a feat that has NEVER been replicated--and I fail to see ANY validity in your argument as it has been presented.
Over those 11 years Montana was jsut as good and sometimes better than Brady, he has 4 wins and a perfect record to Tom's 3-1 record, he has 3 SB MVPs, a feat that has not been matched, and, again, was the best QB in a Golden Age of QBs, whereas today its basically Brady/Peyton, and you can toss in Vick if you REALLY want to stretch it, though Montana/Elway/Marino/Moon/Kelly seems to trump Peyton/Brady/Vick in terms of awe-power. As for win-loss ratio, its so close and Montana has the numbers where it matters most--namely, 4-0 and 3 SB MVPs to Tom's 3-1 and 2 SB MVPs--and MONTANA threw the game-winning TD pass in HIS Super Bowl appearances, passing and rushing for them in SB XVI, passing for it in a rout in SB XIX, the famous 92-YD drive for that John Taylor TD pass with 58 seconds left to win SB XXIII, and then whichever pass he threw first in his ROUT of Elway and his Broncos 55-10 in XXIV, not to mention he came to fame and starteed HIS dynasty with one of the msot famous, important, and impressive plays in NFL history, "The Catch" to beat Landry's Cowboys in the 1981 NFC Championship Game.
Compare THAT with Brady's SB wins coming off of VINATIERI'S LEG, ie, two SB-winning kicks and those famous--and VERY impressive--kicks in the blizzard in the 2001 AFC Divsional playoff against the Raiders AND the fact that where MONTANA'S legacy and dynasty began with one of the greatest touchdown passes of all-time, BRADY'S began with A FUMBLE THAT WAS NOT RULED AS SUCH IN A BLOWN CALL, THE TUCK RULE! (Come on, Pats fans, admit it, own up to it--as much as I hate them, the Raiders WERE cheated that day, that WAS a fumble and you all know it, and come on...Montana's legacy is defined by "The Catch" and Brady's moment is "The Tuck Rule," where most of the country thought he fumbled the ball? NOT really a compelling case for putting Brady over Montana, is it?)
Brady's all well and good as a Top 10 QB, but against Montana?
Any way you slice it, he just can't win--and I SINCERELY hope the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets knock that cocky Golden Boy into the Foxborough frozen tundra next week! (Really, I liked Brady when he started, but he's just gotten this not-yet-deserved attitude that he's THE KING when, as I just showed, he's a great QB but is NOT the best ever, no matter how much he and New Englanders like to think he is...oh, and MONTANA enver taunted his opposing team the week before the Super Bowl and laughed at them and was already cocky about a win--before a loss. See, THAT sort of things bugs me, just a tad...)
And to cap it off...
As much as it's subjective...
Sorry--but if you think the Pats of 2001-2007 and the Dolphins of the early 1970s are the BEST dynasties of all-time...
There's no right or wrong answer--but even still...no. Not even close.
The 1960s Packers won numerous NFL Championship Games before the Super Bowl was invented and then won those AND the first two Super Bowls when those first came about, with some of the most legendary figures in NFL history, one of the greatest victories in NFL history in The Ice Bowl vs. the Dallas Cowboys--and it was COLDER in the Ice Bowl than it was in the Snow Bowl between the Pats and Raiders--and a coach so vital and legendary that the Super Bowl trophy, football's highest honor, is NAMED FOR HIM.
The 1970s Steelers won 4 Super Bowls in 6 years and have the most Hall of Famers of any dynasty in football history.
The 1980s 49ers won 4 Super Bowls in 9 years and had who many consider to be the Greatest Quarterback, Receiver, and Cornerback in NFL history in Montana, Jerry Rice, and Ronnie Lott, as well as owning the record for most points scored in a SB and biggest margin of victory in a SB (55

and a margin of 45 in a 55-10 trouncing of the Broncos in SB XXIV.)
The 1990s Cowboys won 3 SBs in 4 years BEFORE the Patriots did that in the 2000s, had one of the greatest QB/HB/WR triple threats ever in Troy Aikman, all-time leading rusher Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin--all three now Hall of Famers--and did all of this with not one but two coaches at the helm...and a HELL of a lot of media scrutiny, as well as one of if not the biggest turnaround in NFL history by going from worst to first and winning the SB in 1992 with a team most rank in the Top 10 Greatest Ever.
The 2000s Patriots just do NOT top THAT list of previous dynasties, and the early 1970s Dolphins, while a great team and the 1972 team is simply legendary, also fall short.
