if we get some additional professors lined up, we can create another game, but i kind of like having just the one game at a time. even if you are not in the game, and requested to be a student, please follow along the commentary thread. ask questions, but please don't add your own commentary. if you have a thought about something you see happen in the game, ask in the thread what people think of your opinion. those students who indicated interest this time, but did not get included, and stay involved will get preferential treatment in the future School of War games.

lastly, i ask all students who have been selected to play (or are on wait list), and all professors, to confirm their participation, and any delays that need to factor in for starting the game. my goal would be for this game to start on Monday the 23rd of November.

also, vamosrammstein, you qualify as a professor candidate based on your ghost-rating (249, rank 85). i will keep that in mind for future games, if you are interested in participating in that way.

I really don't have a preference. I think stratagos and my style of play are similar to ourselves, yet different from Ivo's. So it should be good commentary either way.

@djbent If I take over for a player who goes CD, will it result in my ineligibility to participate as a starting player in future SoW games? I would be happy to take over for a CD player and am honored to be on the waiting list, but I would really like to start a game as a student as well.

@Centurian - i actually have recruited a third. Akroma will be another commentating professor for School of War VI. i will keep recruiting though, keeping in mind that it drops off at the end, and find someone who can commit to commentating during the later phases of the game in case we lose commentators along the way as we have in the past. that actually might coincide with the time when you become available, so you may be a good candidate for that...

I'll be happy to mentor this round. How are you planning on making mentors work? One per student, or a pool to ask questions to?

Doak, a commentary professor is writing commentary on each turn from a completely unbiased opinion. So they have no interaction with the players.

A mentor is someone a player can go to to ask specific questions (ie: "Germany is offering me a bounce in bur, and england is offering me a bounce in EC. Should I do both? What are the pros/cons of each?"). Questions you really can't ask on the public threads but want some input during the game.
