I concur with Chrispminis in that eugenics is not the best method to further our evolution. Genetic engineering. It would effectively eliminate the capability of racism, as gene pools (aka races) would become irrelevent, if not eliminated entirely. Again, as Nietzche so aptly put it, our highest and strongest instinct is the "will to power." It is at the core of every living thing to survive, and, if possible, to dominate. Through the injection of certain chemicals into the bloodstream, we could, effectively control our own emotions, and, ultimately, our actions. We ought, therefore, to divide humanity into three classes: man type "A", man type "B", and man type "C". Man type "C" is man as he is today. Man type "B" would be those in whom genetic engineering has perfected their capability to fight, and eliminated their "Will to Power." Man type "A" would be those in whom the "Will to Power" has been raised by an extreme degree. There would be three possible punishments for infractions of the law: Slavery, Death, and Experimentation. Violations of the law would only be counted as infractions the second time they occur: the first time you would be injected with chemicals to eliminate your desire to do such things. If you resist the "re-educational" process, you will be subjected to one of the aforementioned punishments. Man type "A" would rule, to get back to our idea of three men above. Ideally, there would only ever be one of these at one time. Otherwise, the two would inevitably fall into conflict and destroy the world in their attempts to ensure that the other did not get it. Man type "B", with their wills having been eliminated, would enforce the rule of "A". "C" will do as they are told if they know what is good for them. And they will; we will make it very clear to them. In addition to fear, we would use any other means necessary to maintain order.
In my defense for the idea that being homosexual is something to be cured of:
I never said anything about it being genetic in nature: it is not. The scientific community has proved this to my satisfaction. It is fairly obvious, however, that it involves a change of chemistry in the brain. We now have the capability to fix this problem through the destruction of certain glands, as well as the injection of other chemicals producing the opposite effects. As far as a population problem goes: We're not having one! It is true that in a good many third-world countries there are more people than the food supply can support. But, here in the U.S. we produce hundreds of times as much food as we need. In order to accelerate the evolution of the species, we need as many people as possible, so we can try as many different mutation combinations as possible. We therefore need to have EVERYONE reproduce. If they ("queers") resist the new brain chemistry, they ought to be eliminated as a waste of resources. As far as your psychosexual data goes, Freud was stupid. As your "psychologists" were, no doubt, followers of his, they are stupid too. The ancients have a great deal to teach us regarding this matter. They established the rite of marriage because it meant that the species produced too slowly to cause population problems but quickly enough that the "tribe" would swiftly increase in numbers. In addition, if you will compare the modern situation in the West with the situation in circa A.D. 200 Rome, you will find that, aside from the obvious technological differences, the characteristics of the two civilizations remarkably similar. Indeed, one might say identical. What happened to Rome by the end of that century? Its power was broken. To be sure, there was a true "Roman" on the Imperial Throne until 476, but brittany, much of north africa, the British Isles by the end of the 3rd century paid allegiance to Rome in word only, and most of the rest of the Empire was not doing as it ought.
To answer the last paragraph of Chrispminis' post, "If there is anything that makes humans special (if that is needed to satisfy our ego)," Humanity is special. Mathematically the probability of any complex life forms (that is to say, higher order than bacteria or protists) arising on any other planet in any other system in any other galaxy is, quite literally, one over infinity. In other words, zero. We are quite certain that we are the only species on our planet which is "self-conscious." that is to say, we do not act purely because of external stimuli. In addition, we have the vital asset of adaptability. When the early men came into the northern latitudes, it was, no doubt, too cold for them. But instead of, as any other creature would have done, evolving a fur coat, this man killed a bear and borrowed his coat.
p.s. I really enjoy arguing, so just because I'm arguing a point, doesn't mean I believe in it.
