Lacking Strategy for World Diplomacy
In my searches I've yet to find any helpful strategy or tactic articles for World Diplomacy. Obviously the point is to develop your own twist on the common strategy, but for someone like me playing their first world game after focusing on classic and modern for two years it's a problem. Anyone have any tips for World Diplomacy (specifically Argentina).

iOS 10 Problem
Okay, so it's kind of shit in terms of typing things. It used to be that when I was typing on my phone when the typing went off of where the screen was currently positioned, the screen would move to accommodate so you could always see what you are typing, so now when I'm on my phone I have to physically move where on the page the screen is viewing to see where I'm typing. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Do players sometimes get randomly muted during game?
This happened in my first game and now it happened in my second. I'll look down at the list of players and one of them will just randomly be muted. What's going on? Did I randomly click on the screen and mute somebody? Site problem? A bug? I caught this one pretty quickly so I don't think I missed any important conversations but still!!

Greetings, noble players of the hobby.
I wonder why this site has so few variants. Most sites either have lots (vDiplomacy) or just a few connected and similar ones (PlayDiplomacy) or just good old vanilla (Backstabbr).

@bo i agree with everything you said, except a lot of the problem with SJW hype is that they accuse the cop of racism before ANY investigation came out.

Otherwise yeah, and SUPER STRICT screenings coming into the force, and yearly mandatory screenings on for them

"Somehow British and German cops manage to keep the peace without shooting up the place. US cops kill nearly as many people as gang members do per person. That is a problem"

YOU JUST DESCRIBED TWO COUNTRIES THAT HAVE A HIGHER POPULATION DENSITY OF WHITE PEOPLE LMFAO
my god man honestly those countries are so much less diverse,

"Still, there is something disgusting about corrupt police (and this notion that the courts are to be trusted in matter of justice for cops is a joke)"

And yeah thanks FOR ALL THE ABUNDANT EVIDENCE -.-

Yeah, people conduct their own "investigations," usually bad ones. Tumblr isn't the only place where that happens, JY. That is literally everyone on everything. We all have opinions. Some of them are stupid. That's nothing exclusive to social justice warriors.

Once they put body cameras on cops that they can't just turn off or take off and put more cameras in cop cars (window cams, anyone?), this shit will be so much easier.
JamesYanik (548 D)
02 Sep 16 UTC
that second one is for Ogion, as is this

All you can give me is anecdotal evidence. A case here, a case there. YES RACISM IS BAD. but systemic, widespread racism throughout our legal system as a notion has ZERO BACKUP. No reputable studies have been done that show this magical racism.

and unless you have seen a study of a considerable number of police cases being cleared when they were guilty, and can provide ample evidence of corruption in such a sample size - then you're punching at smoke.

stop screaming IT'S A COVER UP YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM without ANY evidence, other than a few anecdotes
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Lol, JY, take the bar exam in your state before you talk to Ogion about evidence.

@bo

i'm sorry but I know there is racism in small towns throughout America where Police will get away with murder, but shouting at all cops calling them racist is not productive. show me studies show me figures that support this and i'll believe you, but there aren't any i've seen

JY, if you think I'm a voice of reason, you should be pretty pissed off at police departments around the country that aren't doing this. They are going to great lengths to avoid it in a number of places.

The important thing at this stage isn't whether or not cops are all racist - obviously, they aren't all racist - but that the perception exists. That only creates more problems for police officers, which, in turn, only creates more problems for civilians, which then become greater problems for police officers, who become greater problems for civilians .... and on and on and on. It's a cycle until one side or the other stops trying to buckle their belt up tighter and just gives in, and god knows that's not gonna be a scared and/or pissed populace. It needs to be the police.

Yeah right here in Oklahoma we're having problems with the Police and that pisses me off, and the restrictions you mentioned need to come (And the police need to stop being so resistant to basic regulations), but I repeat myself:

the police are a necessary part of our society, and I don't appreciate unbridled hate towards them. not from you of course bo, but unfortunately i got a LOT of über liberal friends, one of which actually though Sanders didn't have the balls for full socialism 0.o

Things Colin Kaepernick has done:

• Voiced his opinion
• Exercised his right not to stand during the anthem in non-violent protest
• Worn politically-charged clothing (gasp!)
• Donated $1,000,000 to charities he believes will fight for what he believes in

Things the NFL has done:

• Covered up for domestic abuse
• Allowed rapists, abusers, and murderers to continue playing and getting paid bajillions
• Rigged medical studies trying to find out how the NFL should approach head trauma and brain damage
• Not paid any taxes in for-fucking-ever on their $7+ billion yearly revenue because they're "non-profit"
• Donates exactly $0.00 yearly to breast cancer research despite flaunting themselves and selling millions in merchandise portraying themselves as an organization that "helps fight breast cancer" every October
• Takes millions in taxpayer money from the Department of Defense to honor the military because they can't be bothered unless they get paid for it

I'm starting to wish that the players would start protesting the NFL instead.

An open letter from a "pig" to Colin Kaepernick: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/09/03/police-officer-who-shot-19-year-old-black-man-pens-open-letter-to-colin-kaepernick/

Good grief, what a silly letter. "Are there some bad apples within my profession? Absolutely and they need to be identified and fired or arrested! But you know what, the vast majority do the right thing, the right way, for the right reason." Bullshit. the vast majority of cops to NOT do the right thing and do everything in their power to prevent the bad cops from getting fired or arrested. Which is exactly the point. Now you have the Santa Clara police union basically standing up for racism and police brutality saying they won't work 49ers games because their fee-fees were hurt.

Begin a cop isn't even in the top 10 most dangerous professions in the US, but we don't see loggers or fishermen or electric line workers getting paid leave if they kill people. More pity party from the police.

if the police want respect, they can start acting in a way that would deserve it.
Ogion (3882 D)
03 Sep 16 UTC
@ Bo, you might mention that the NFL headquarters apparently thinks that drawing attention to police brutality is a huge crime, but rape, murder, assaulting partners and four-year-olds are basically within the bounds of decency. One thing is for sure, NFL execs are on bunch of slimy fucking bastards.

Seems to be big news . . . but anything done by a celebrity in the public eye is in America. That said, sometimes it has particular moral weight. Remember Muhammad Ali, and what he said about not serving in Vietnam. That's the tension between patriotism and humanity. Humanity can be ugly, and sometimes you need your state. And often the state is ugly, and you need your humanity. And the American state has been, by and large--and non-Americans visiting the country see this most clearly--been most cruel to Black Americans. And it's not just the police, and police haven't only wronged Blacks. Still, it's astonishing that bringing up a fact of American life is controversial. Recent interviews from the likes of Eddie Glaude Jr., for example, I think are quite illuminating. There's plenty on YouTube . . . and in fine bookstores everywhere, or your local library (if you still have one where you live).

Ahaha! Right on, Brainbomb!

I should correct myself; obviously, Americans subject to systematic cruelty, of any hue, gender, orientation, language, or what have you or any of the preceding, see it the most by reasons of feeling it the most. My bad. Suppose I'm always trying to get people who wonder about the US to actually go there and see it.
