Did anyone miss Putin33?
After a couple of days, and seeing him participate in a few heated arguments, I ask the population of webDip. Did you miss Putin33? I know I did. Whether for laughing at him and his ideology, glad of a champion of your ideology, someone to defend Russia, or someone else to call krellin names, who had SOME reason to be glad he is back?

Did Cameron do this on purpose?
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jun/28/cameron-eu-juncker-defeat-britain-exit

His foreign policy is a total shambles but maybe he did this on purpose to accelerate the Brexit. It takes great strategic planning to bungle something this badly.

Could someone explain to me how to get the derivative of:
(3x^2+6x)/(2x^3+2)^5
So [(3x^2+6x)/(2x^3+2)^5]'=.....
I've missed quite some math classes lately and I need to know how to solve this type of thing (and other things but anyway) for a test tomorrow. I could probably figure it out myself eventually, but I just don't have the time and I have quite a bit more to go through.
Would someone be willing to show me the steps I should take?

Of Kurds and Caliphates
http://news.yahoo.com/netanyahu-calls-jordan-support-kurdish-autonomy-214846630.html The ISIS today declared itself to be an Islamic State...and we'll see how long that lasts, or where that goes...meanwhile, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyau called for support for the Jordanians (gee, I can't imagine why) and independence for Iraq's Kurds. Which is a more likely state to be recognized/come into being/"stick," a Kurdistan (if you will) or this ISIS caliphate? Thoughts?

B.J. Upton powers Braves past Phillies 3-2
Gerald Laird had two hits with a double and RBI for the Braves, who won for the sixth time in seven games though ending their road trip 8-3. Atlanta avenged a three-game sweep by Philadelphia June 16-18 at Turner Field.

Question for the mods:
I note we have some newish stats, like reliability rating. Ilove the idea of this. Is there some way we can set up games with a minimum reliability rating threshhold for participants? That would be a really nice way to filter out the people who join live games and then immediately quit the moment the game does not work out for them.

@Putin

Draug, out of nowhere, was attempting to use his tailor as means to appear superior. I was just pointing out that we shop at the same store, so I wasn't particularly impressed.

And, by the way, if you're buying a $500 suit at JAB, you're doing something seriously wrong. They all look identical, and if you just wait for a sale, you can easily buy 3 suits for well under $500. So, I really have no idea what either of you are talking about by considering JAB the high-end of fashion.

Nope, guys, I already told you I had a choad. 6 inches long at best, but fairly thick.

I call it Japanese junk because my grandfathers both fought the Japanese in WWII. I *won't* buy Japanese. Now, Korean (Hyundai and Kia), absolutely. The Kia Optima is a sweet ride and the Hyundai Santa Fe AWD my wife had when I had the Vette was very nice for the money and reasonably capable in bad weather.

"All suits are not equal"

Sure, that may be true, but like wine, I feel like people tend to pay more for suits because they think just the act of spending more makes it better.

If you have a job that requires the daily use of suits, then maybe it would make sense to spend more on them. But, having tried on may suits at JAB, I can't say their $500 suit was 5x better than their $100 suit. So, I question the decision making that went into that purchase.

for daily i would agree with you, but for fine dress attire, there's much better... when you have suits made at Armani or Zegna the price is considerably higher

"So, I really have no idea what either of you are talking about by considering JAB the high-end of fashion."

Just stop while you're ahead, abg. You're just exposing yourself for buying into the most transparent bait-and-switch consumer rip off in marketing, the bullshit 70% discounts of absurdly marked up products or the ridiculous Buy 1 get 7 free nonsense.

If you think Jos A isn't overpriced you're as bad as Draugnar.

And yet you drive a car made by the same company that made Hitler's staff car. Great logic there.

Well, you can call Vertical Solution, Inc. and ask for Robert Bolin or just ask for the Lead/Senior Software Engineer and I'll pick up when they transfer it to my desk. As far as the salary, you'll have to just take my word. I'm not releasing my SSN and tax documents.

Oh, and if you have an in at the Ohio BMV, just have the run the plates DRAUGNR and tell you who owns it and what make, model, and year of car it is..

Both gramps fought in the Pacific Theater and Germany never attacked American soil. Some would argue we were aggressors in Europe and Africa.

Yes, I have you muted, but there is this amazing key called "Esc" that stops the javascript from running in the browser. Time it right (or just turn off javascript) and you can read muted posts.

"Some would argue we were aggressors in Europe and Africa. "

Woah woah woah. So we were the aggressors for staging D-Day?

Would YOU say that?

Is it really so hard to just say, "I like this car better than that one just because," Draug?
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
28 Jun 14 UTC
@Putin

Yes, I understand JAB is overpriced, which is why I only buy there during a sale. Yes, it is still a bit more expensive even during a sale, but the experience I find to be much better. In particular, I've found the staff to be much more helpful than somewhere like, say JC Penney. For that, the extra cost is worth it to me.

Now, if you buy your suit from JC Penney or wherever, I really don't care. I don't judge people on their suits. I am just pointing out discrepancy in Draug's statement, since we apparently buy equivalent suits, but I spend several hundreds less than he does.

Putin, what do you do?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
28 Jun 14 UTC
Funny because Germany tried to attack the US, only indirectly. They didn't have the manpower (and Hitler didn't have the guts) to put their own soldiers at risk out here. It was probably one of the key mistakes that ended up costing Hitler and Nazi Germany the war.

Coastal Movement
Normally, when two units make a move to each other's territories, it causes a bounce (Rhur moves to Munich while Munich moves to Rhur). However, would coasts be treated as different territories for fleets? For example, could a fleet in Spain (nc) move to MAO while another fleet in MAO moved to Spain (sc)? Same with Bulgarian coasts and Constantinople. Thanks in advance!

OK, sorry for the delay...and the continued delay--we'll start Midnight tonight. ORWELL! DICKENS! POE! TOLKIEN! Who will advance?

And a bonus question, just for schnicks and giggles--what's the first book you read after high school (or, if it was a while ago, the earliest book you can remember reading after high school?) Just curious to see what we get.
