Warships have other uses besides attacking other warships. There's a lot of Japanese, North Korean, Vietnamese, and Iraqi (!) bunkers that no longer exist because of the Iowa-class. You also have to admit that an Iowa-class could take on an aircraft carrier from the same era with a high probability of success. It's not like these things didn't have adequate air defenses and ridiculous deck armor in their WWII/Korea configuration.
