Hmmm, I haven't played F2F in about 20 years, and never with more than four total people in the game, though I'm sure the humble pie will be great.

Boston is too expensive and too far away for me to make it.
Also, I might need a visa just to enter usa.

Just a Greek passport, hellalt. You only need a visa for extended stays/employment and a green card if you wish to permanently emmigrate.

If Boston is the theme here, i think id make the trip just to meet everyone and get in on that pic! Count me in.

@Madmarx-Yes I ate a lot of humble pie at a F2f last year where I lost all 3 games, (and havent been to another F2F since!) All the subtleties of body language, and the "tells" that the poker players might see but I won't. Plus I don't see how we could do anon games. I would say the F2F most resembled a live game on this site-the pace was extremely fast!!! We were supposed to have 15 mins per phase (so that we could fit in 2 games per day) but by the time we read the orders , often only 12 mins was left. Then if for example I needed to talk to G, well maybe he was busy conferring with F, so I had to wait. But now there were only say 8 minutes left to persuade him and then re-adjust with R and then write down my orders. Frantic!

So, then... by those standards, should the pre-tournament tournament be live? Also, What about using an adjudicator to help with reading orders?

Well then you fools are in for a treat because I have recently started a f2f club at my university. So I hope to be a f2f champ by the time you fools get schooled at Webdipfest 2010.

I can speak to Boston's public stuff. Last time I was there, we were picke dup in a limo (yes, the real thing, not a van they call a limo) and wined and dined to try and get my company's business.

Boston's public transformation is really good in comparison to other cities. When I was there it was reliable and speedy.

The T in Boston is really good. Sorry to randomly butt in, but I've been in the city a lot and its very good, depending on which lines you have to take. Green line can be a bitch.

Regarding abjudication, the local club at Chicago has a policy whereby each turn a different player reads everyone's orders and one or two other players pushes. The order resolution is surprisingly simple in most cases.

The Chicago club recently had a huge debate about that French opening move, whether it was necessarily anti Germany etc. I made a hat to demonstrate which side I was on.
