Nah, I can do it whenever. Earlier would actually be better since I'm in Japan in January but that's awhile away.

I'd love to be part of this one, but until I finish a game or two, I'm afraid I can't commit. I would be willing to guest prof once every year or two.

My preference would be England, France or Germany. I feel like I understand the dynamic of the Eastern powers slightly better, so it would be great to get a grip on the Western side of things.

Is there a limit as to how new a student should be? I haven't been around super long, but I've played almost 100 games. I feel like there's a lot to learn still though, so I'd like to be a student if possible. If not then oh well... Haha

Phil, you don't really need this. You're pretty good in press.

When I first started playing there were a couple times (three I believe) that I just stopped playing, usually around exam periods and usually for about a month. I really don't have a valid excuse other than I would just forget to check the site. But like I said these were when I first started playing and when I didn't really understand the gravity of a CD. If my CD's make me ineligible, then I'll own them. I'm much more reliable now but that doesn't mean someone historically more reliable shouldn't have the spot.

SS, you willing to TA?

ALEX, the biggest thing is that you just aren't as good as the TAs lol. Preference will go to newer students, though.

In the past, when weved had two games of students, we've had a study group, that doesn't have TAs or professor commentary but does have a couple experienced players in the game with the aim of giving limited in game commentary. Perhaps we could start one of those as well with preference to those players going to the next SOW.

Ah, right. Well, essentially, there was a time when I got incredibly annoyed with internet diplomacy, had no games worth mentioning, and sort of phased it out entirely. It was a stupid thing to do. I can certainly say I would take a game like this a lot more seriously. In retrospect, though, maybe I should leave the spot open for anyone else who wants in, since I do have a slightly nasty schedule, and can't really participate at the level necessary. Cross me out of the list of students, and maybe put me on as a sub, or something?

I'm all about 2nd chances, but I'm hesitant because we had a CD in the last SOW which sucks considering how much time people put into it. If no one objects, we can put you into the Study Group and if you make it through that, we can probably get you in the next SOW.

I understand completely and I'd be more than happy to do the study group. I can imagine how much it would suck to put so much time into helping other players only to have them not show up. If you let me in the study group, promise I won't let you down.
