Bird with Beard wins Eurovision Song Contest
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27360310

People just can't be bothered to shave anymore, even for big events like the Eurovision Song Contest, I didn't think the song was that good but the beard I would give top marks.
Well done Austria, I'm sure the right-wingers are outraged by this so every cloud .....

"My evidence is photographs of the poles, not a computer model."
However synapse you're photograph is just as misleading as Krellins 'data'.

The minimum icecap of 2013 was larger then the minimum icecap of 2012, and the 1984 min icecap was larger then the min icecap of 1982.

Your picture was just the largest possible change in the smallest amount of time to give the allusion that the icecaps are melting at a faster rate then they are (thus making people more alarmed)

They are certainly getting smaller (and its important to note that there are outlier years, such as in 2013 where they actually got larger), but choosing the pictures or graphs that crop the date to better suit your agenda is still being misleading.

"How about global warming-denying metallurgists? " How about global warming supporting politicians? Because mostly, it is polticians keeping the research dollars flowing to a very specific group of like-minded individuals. The fact that the "scientists all agreeing" is because.....go figure it out...the fucking politicians ONLY give research money to those that....wait for it....already have drawn their conclusion, and support the politicians requirements which is....wait for it...to produce "science" that backs the politicians stated "belief" which he pummels ignorant voters with using scare tactics...

Politicians -> Supplies funding to screened "scientists" with a pre-determined outcome -> produces "scary COMPUTER MODELS" -> politicians says "See, the earth id dyyyyyyyyyy-ing....VOTE FOR ME and I'll give this guy money to saaaaaaaa-ve you.." -> politicians gets re-elected because you are afraid the other guy is going to deeeeee-stroy the earth!!!! -> cycle continues....

Except, the computer models never come true.

Ohhhhhh....you mean....uh....like the Global Warming scientists do? The masters of cherry picking? If they cherry picked any more data they'd be permanently red from the juice, and we'd have to declare them a new species.

Here...I'll UNPICK some data for you to give you a bigger picture of global warming.

There used to be ICE covering large parts of North America....then there wasn't...and man wasn't around to cause it.

Global warming...just like ice ages...are NATURAL CYCLES.

SCIENTIFIC CONSENSUS: Ahhhh....remember when the US wasn't full of disgusting obese people flooding the health care system? Yeah...see...it seems that at one time there was a SCIENTIFIC "CONSENSUS", supported no less than by the US Government with all sorts of $$$$ cashola backing the research....that said fatty food was killing us, and that we needed to change our diets or we would all die...

So we listened to the government...we listened to the Scientific Consensus...and we all started eating low fat foods and lots of carbs, because hell, the government backed research told us they understood how the body worked...and they had the research to back their assertions.

Only...the science was wrong. Fatally flawed...and we are now an unhealthy, obese nation because of the "scientific consensus" of diet pushed by Government backed research.

So yeah....forgive me if I look at the real world climate, and dismiss your government backed scientific consensus on computer climate models.

I know all you little kiddies are quaking in your knit booties about the imminent destruction of the world...but, to mature, level-headed individuals that have been there, done that, and have the bomb-shelter to prove it, we're a little more skeptical about your "computer models" that have no real-world backing in any actual demonstrated proof that they are correct. Yeah...we remember the oh-so-scary same "climate scientists" in the 70's assuring us our doom was at hand....by an ice age...

Sorry krellin, I have a hard time believing obesity is the result of the american population taking dietary advice from nutriologists.

The fact that the average global temperature is not about to shoot up ten degrees in the next ten minutes does not make global warming a theory. The average global temperature has risen about three quarters of a degree in the last hundred years or so. More than half of this warming occurring in the last 30ish years. This upward trend is appearing, to me, as exponential rather than linear. I hope I'm wrong. Combine this with all of the extreme weather events, rising carbon dioxide levels, and rising populations(with their resultant activities), and the consensus of Earth's scientific community doesn't seem all that wrongheaded.

"Sorry krellin, I have a hard time believing obesity is the result of the american population taking dietary advice from nutriologists. "

lol really? You don't think that the american diet has anything to do with obesity? lol Good god, drink some more kool-aide and go hide in your global warming shelter, moron. Yes, you are right, the "food pyramid", the diet pushed in schools, the grocery stores filled with "low fat/ no fat" food that all the obese people are eating (while continuing to get obese) has nothing to do with obesity. Yes...you are right...the fact the modern science totally refutes the diet of 30 years ago that a generation of fat people ate has nothing to do with the problem.

No...what this indicates is that, when you don't like something, when the facts disagree with your belief, you just ignore them.

Just like you ignore the fact that climate "science" COMPUTER MODELS have an almost 100% FAILURE RATE at predicting climate...and yet, because you reallllllly want to believe the scare "science", you ignore facts, and adhere to the doom and gloom predictions.

A good libtard never let's pesky facts get in the way of his beliefs.

abge - of course, you are more intelligent than that. It should read "BAD science when followed by ignorant Americans makes people fat"

That's rich, krellin. I sometimes wonder if you even realize how disingenuous you are. Your signal-to-noise ratio is so low, it simply isn't worth trying to parse through the mounds of bullshit you are somehow able to mass produce to see if you are making a valid point or not.

" More than half of this warming occurring in the last 30ish years. This upward trend is appearing, to me, as exponential rather than linear."
The 70s, 80s and 90s had the fastest growth Maple, its slowed down considerably since then. NASA explained the slowdown here: http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/warming_aerosols.html

This would suggests those years we're outliers, and that the temperature is rising, at least for the moment, at a linear rate.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
08 May 14 UTC
For all the finer points; we have broadly known what is healthy for years and years in diets: moderate portions, spaced throughout the day, low sugar, variety, fresh and raw as often as possible. Fruits and vegetables. Not reliant on any one of the three macronutrients. Mix of all three.

Yes, it's more complex than that, but we have known this for a long time. If you really think the obesity epidemic is the result of misguided dietary advice, then lol. It's because of our agricultural/food system, the structure of which is disturbingly depending on policy and economic forces.
Gtlblx (919 D)
08 May 14 UTC
"lol really? You don't think that the american diet has anything to do with obesity?"

I said "taking dietary advice from nutriologists" not "diet". I doubt those who cause their own obesity follow the advice given. Also in my experience the plate model has been pushed more than the food pyramid.
krellin (80 DX)

abge - Oh really...so you are denying that your statement was specifically and purposely misleading? Have a little integrity, abge.

Creating a game based on GR
I was 112 in April and I'm 353 overall. I'd like to play with some people ranked higher than me.

The game would be full-press (it's all I really play). Everything else is up for discussion: anon/non-anon, buy-in, PPSC/WTA, and length. Personally, I prefer 3-4 days, but I could do 2 if people wanted. Who's interested?

A Third Pary Run in 2016?
Couple years off, obviously, but still, allow me to float a hypothetical--Rand Paul, like his father before him, obviously is a big enough name to run for office...and, like his father, might not be a perfect fit for the big business-happy GOP as a whole. That being said, he's younger and potentially a hotter candidate than his father was, so, let's say Rand Paul runs as a third party candidate vs. Hillary and *insert flavor of the month GOP candidate here.* How would that race go?

A Few rules questions (Sorry if you'd heard these questions before)
If you perform a support hold on an army that attempted to move to a different location but failed (therefore it hasnt moved), will the support hold fail because the initial orders were not to hold?

Also, if army 1 is supporting army 2 and is being support held by army 3, yet army 1 gets attacked, does his support of army 2 fail or stay since army 1 is being support held by army 3? (sorry if that was confusing)
