This is not an apology or a goodbye. This is a statement.
I love the shit here in the forum. I'm almost done with school, so after this post, I am asking goldfinger to amplify me for a period of no less than one year. I feel after all my contributions my posts here deserve to be printed in fontsize+5 (not Arial). I'll use the time to teach you all on conservative values.

Adobe data theft exposes widespread problem of weak passwords
Apparently the most popular password among Adobe users was "123456" - (LINK: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24821528)

What's YOUR WebDip password? Do you have a more secure one than that? Post it here and we'll see if the forum agrees!

Western Spring (as opposed to Arab Spring)
How long until we really start to get rid of our own tyrants?

Just curious what people think and all... Also trying to have some compassion for the Arabs because right now it's just one of those things happening somewhere in the east for me... It would come much closer if I see what this would mean in the west I suppose... Discuss.

Can I call bullshit?
regarding my contributions to the bible reading thread:

first: 'at least several of us can't get on the site if the forum is littered with porn' - first, i spent far too much time getting around such stupid systems last year (accessing internet from schools i was working in) and it's rather simple - though i've since found one location (not a school oddly enough) where i couldn't use tor - download the Tor Browser Bundle to a USB stick and browser the net from there...

Of course some 'work environments' are data sensitive and don't let you bring your usb sticks in with you... and in those, i suggest you probably are supposed to be at work and not accessing the site at all.

Second: 'Mods aren't allowed to mute other people' - Sorry, i misunderstood that...

Third: 'Kestas doesn't want...It's his site orathaic' - that is entirely true, and i'm entitled to disagree. I'm even entitled to voice my disagreement in multiple locations (because that's the way Kestas happens to want things)

Lastly: this is a silly problem, i understand mods not being able to mute people - but as muting is client-side the 'porn links' or whatever, are downloaded even if i mute someone. (and then hidden by js) You problem is more likely when a work-specific filter decides that webdip is 'inappropriate' and block it - in which case, either use a freaking proxy, or don't use webdip at work, because it's not you time or your internet connection...

That said, i'm still against YJ's stupidity and aggression on the stupid and frankly misplaced bible reading thread...

Bu the way, you can just google any link that is posted. You don't have to actually go there. For instance.

Only one link comes up... It's to webdip.

I am allowed to view the site at work and use whatever other sites I please as long as my work gets done. I suspect many others have the same situation. What I am not allowed to do is view porn at work, and using a proxy or other such methods to get around that block is an offense met with termination.

As for other users, most people are not familiar with tor, proxies, or other such methods to get around work/school blocks. Requiring members to do that just so a few people can post porn links isn't something anyone, including Kestas, is willing to do.

As for posting your disagreement, you're more then welcome too, and the other mods and I all appreciate you doing so as respectfully as you are, it's a welcome change.

@draug, suggesting IE over Chrome or Firefox to avoid suggestions is like suggesting someone ride a horse to avoid the potential of a car crash.

Am i entitled to post a regular 'blog-like' look at people's sex lives? You know, the kind of erotica which would look fairly innocuous to someone looking over your shoulder, but might trigger some keywords for your work's porn filter (i don't know how these actually work, out than categorizing websites based on black lists...)
jmo1121109 (3812 D)

It's just links or extremely sexual OP's that aren't allowed. If you want to post an explicit detailed account of your sex life inside a thread with a title like "My love life inside" feel free.

I don't, i'm just wondering... i think i'd encourage others to contribute to a 'sex life of webdip' thread, including various christians/atheists, republicans/democrats, europeans/americans, hetro/homo, and whatever other mixups...

The thought occurring to me is no more than a passing whim, but i'm sure there are others here who would appreciate a daily-'sex life of webdip' thread... Got forth and populate!

Instead of investigating YJs bogus links, maybe the mods should wait until users actually confirm the links are pornographic? Otherwise you are going to have to make a rule against posting bogus satirical links.

I must admit some of those sample bogus links jmo posted gave me a chuckle.

Cap' meme:

Being a moderator is not for everybody. If you find yourself too offended by checking out potentially questionable content, maybe the lofty position of forum moderator isn't for you? Same goes for jmo, if your workplace doesn't allow free navigation to wherever you like, maybe you just aren't the right choice for forum moderation. Or maybe you should stay off the fucking internet at work?

I'm an envelope pusher. Envelopes need pushing. It's what I do, and often to hilarious effect. I know there are many who agree, and some others who can go fuck themselves (the humorless drones). Just remember the immortal words, the more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your finger.

Let me be clear: you exist to make this game and forum the environment we want. We are under no obligation to restrict our posts to "make your job easier." If you say your duties include checking EVERY link, and you can't handle your duties, quit and give the job to somebody who can.

Damn it! I thought I had an innocent sounding one that would only be dirty in the reader's mind. turns out it is a real pron site. Fuck!

It involves creampies and, well, when done singular and with a www at the beginning and a com at the ned...

You get the idea. I was hoping it would go to an actual cream pie manufacturer of something like banana cream pies or boston cream pies, but no. Some porn purveyor scarfed it up and does creampie movies wiht it.

You guys can all shut up now too. If you have a problem with the moderators I suggest you take it up with them personally. If that doesn't work, I would suggest that you are the problem because the moderators here tend to be extremely reasonable especially if you air your grievances privately. I have learned this first hand.

Stop acting like a child, yellowjacket.

Draug, you're the biggest hypocrite on this site. I don't care if Lando does get upset occasionally, he's making a rational point and doesn't have to act like a petulant infant to get his point across.

It's not hypocritical at all, actually. That comment implies that my opinions have not changed or that my actions have not changed to reflect them. A year ago sure, you're right. But when I say I "learned this first hand" I did. If you have an issue, jmo et al are more than willing to discuss it reasonably. What you are doing here is not productive under any circumstance, and I would politely ask you to stop please.
Draugnar (0 DX)

I never claimed to be otherwise. Although, in reality, I'm not a hypocrite because I firmly bvelieve in telling the mods off and I do so often. I firmly believe in pushing envelopes (and chodes). And I do so often. A hypocrite does one thing and says another. I do exactly what I encourage others to do.

Noi, I'm not a hypocrite. Just an asshole.

No, let me be clear, this isn't a democracy, and I apologize for whoever gave you that idea. You can follow the site rules or you can leave. Choose. We have a hard enough time getting moderators because they don't want to deal with 2 or three idiots, as senior admin I'm not going to have you or anyone else encouraging the few people willing to do the job to stop just because you don't like it when you get called out for screwing with the rules.

What you can do is go find the thread where I announced Captain agreed to become an admin and thank him for devoting more time to the site, or you can shut up.

Anyways, you've been warned, if you post more links that are sexually explicit, either in name or in content you'll be silenced until Kestas gets to your appeal.

Draugnar, under no circumstance should being an asshole be something you are proud of. You have some serious issues if you enjoy making other people miserable which yoou basically just admitted to.

You and I haven't always gotten along - but I think there have been times that we have. This behaviour is not redeeming in any way and if you can't learn to behave maturely, your reputation on this site will be eternally blemished. I think this is something you care about.

We should have a triple secret probationary silence on the site.
While the subject is light hearted Animal House sounding, I mean it when I say it. If the system had a way to silence forum posters posts without indicating to them they were silenced (kind of a universal mute) then people like blankflag could be secretly silenced and the good boys and girls of the forum wouldn't have to put up with him trying to come back in under a different name.
