I actually would join this one if I wasn't going to step away from the game for a while. It's been fun watching these games and Lando's 7 game tournament, especially with the solo rate. It's amazing how it's much higher than most gunboat games. I have a couple of games left, and when they are done, I am going to take a break and take it easy until summer.

I do want to organize a 7 game top gunboater tournament with me as host this summer when, not if, we can calculate GR for GB. Would people be interested?

The title/password of your game could in no way be considered hate speech.

No one has called it hate speech, and I don't feel censored. I could have kept the game name if I wanted to, but I prefer to make a fun, inclusive game than demand that people either be fine with it or pass on it. I don't want to make a political statement when I play. I just want to play.

That ignores the fact that by erase the game you are also making a political statement - and that the person who asked you to erase its existence was of course making a political request.

If that person 'just wanted to play' they would not have made the request.

You may have appeased someone - but don't deny that they politicised the name of a game by refusing to join and having it erased from existence.

I thought your title was a gentle nod to the courteous playing style of the more religious players on the site. A compliment to them, if you will. I guess, though, it's a compliment in the same way that my favorite pick up line is a compliment:

"You must have fallen from heaven. That would explain how you messed up your face."

I just think it's a nasty precedent.

I think any game where I am not doing well is an affront to me, and so it should be canceled. :)

I think you are taking this a bit far, Sarg. Vaft wanted to keep it fun and non-political, so he changed the name of the game. I don't think it's an issue of free speech until someone makes an issue out of it.

I draw the line where people feel uncomfortable joining my games. I'm not trying to tell anyone else what to do or set a precedent, it's my choice. Am I letting others dictate my choice? Yes. But it's only a game. I'm still going to say whatever the fuck I want in the forums, and people can ignore and mute me and call me an idiot or a bigot or whatever they want. A game name is just a game name though, and not important to me at all.
