is it possible to like reset an account or something so i could still use the same username but my record would b cleard? i seriously dont want the resign on my record that bad that i would consider doing that if its possible

It's not that big of a deal... many players, including some of the highest ranked ones, have a few resigns on their record, and no one judges them for it since unfortunate things do happen.

i know to most people it doesnt matter but to me a resign is basically like saying hey im to much of a pussy to fininsh a game so im just going to quit because its easier. also it really makes me mad because even if peyton1 would have won while i was still playing i would have got about 20 because it was a PPSC game but since it forced me to resign i got 0 and he won 40 of the 50 . it was complete bullshit

No no no, one resign for circumstances beyond your control is harmless. Just look at me... I've got *three*, and I'm not entirely convinced all of the reasons for them are as forgivable as I'd like to think. Yet I'm still a top-100 player by GR and, I'd like to think, adequately respected on the site. You've got nothing to fear, especially having played against you -- I know you're an excellent player and I wouldn't (and won't) blink upon seeing "Resigned: 1" on your profile.

It's... frustrating, for sure, to resign for reasons beyond your control. I'd be more pissed at the player that won -- I read the global press. I'm stunned someone could be so shamelessly, pathetically petulant in begging to be allowed to win. I'd be mad because of who I lost to.

But in any case, don't worry, maltizok. I know you're good and reliable and I'm pretty sure any other good players that you come across will share my opinion. You'll be fine.

I wouldn't worry about it maltizok. I second the suggestion to just put an explanation for the one resign on your profile and no one on this site will hold it against you. I don't know if I've ever played you again I don't think you have anything to worry about. Good players with a strong sense of sportsmanship have nothing to worry about, and you certainly seem to have that. And the same goes for peyton1. Players like that tend not to last long or develop a reputation and people simply start avoiding them. Either way, justice is served. Hope this helps.

the sad part about it was i got my internet back up minutes after it forced my resign. even if i could have just put in all holds i would have got a survive and won like 9ish points but i was MINUTES from getting that....im still holding that grudge against peyton1 until i can play with them again and DESTROY them....then i will fell a little better even if destroying them causes me to lose the game =) im not a spiteful person if your willing to be reasonable

My resign happened for the same reason. What really sucks is I was at 17 sc in a live game when it happened to me.

and it was WTA, lost 140 as a result.

Okay, so you really haven't heard of a general making a mistake and letting the other forces flee in a direction that will get the general's head on a block. Well, it happens.

If you don't want them retreating to a more strategic position, then DON'T LEAVE THE MORE STRATEGIC POSITION WIDE OPEN.

It seems like a very realistic rule to me. Besides the impossibility of adjudicating a no-retreat-"forward" rule, it just doesn't make sense.

If the enemy ends up a superior strategic position after a treat... consider revising your orders, not the rule. ;>_>

It's impossible to prevent forward retreats unless you have a unit in every possible adjacent territory. So, Germany is kicked out of Burgundy and moves to Gascony because France 'only' had units in Marseilles, Picardy and Belgium. Garbage.

Maybe there are rare historical cases of these forward retreats, but they do not happen all the time, like they do in this game.

err..rather, had a Paris army as well. The only empty spot was Gascony. It's not mindlessly going forward. The rule makes such situations impossible. You can't oust Germany from Burgundy unless you have it completely surrounded.

Considering that the Gascony-Burgundy border is some 40% of the length of the border between France and Spain, which in real life is around 230ish miles... you're talking about covering a hundred-mile-long border. I'd say it makes quite a bit of sense for it to be able to retreat there.

And actually, I'd say Gascony is superior to Paris as a position for Germany to hold. It borders four French centers (if you count Spain as French, as it ought), which causes more worries for a defender than Paris (which basically only threatens non-SC territories -- easier to sacrifice than defense of 4 SCs!).
