I was thinking of asking this question myself. I know a few girls who play the board game Diplomacy in real life, but not too sure about this site.

How can we even be sure that they're women? Pics, or it doesn't exist. Simple as that.

I can vouch for like 3 of the people in that game, but the rest could be whatever for all I know.

That should be an interesting day Ghost, we'll all find out who programed their leap days correctly (assuming "we" are still alive.) For all the whoopla of y2k, no one worried about 2010 and I ran into a 2010 bug in a simulator program we use for testing.

So enlighten those of us in the field as well. What did you see?

The simulator was supposed to be building a julian date field in the form YJJJ. This worked fine in 2009 but when it got to 2010 it was building the string as 10001 for Jan 1st 2010 instead of 0001. This made all the fields after that field be off by one which really messed up the parsing of the message. They just needed to mod the year by 10 so we got a patch quick enough. But in the meantime we had to change the clock on the computer we were using back to Dec 31st 2009 to complete some time critical testing.

Actually, I saw one similar in a program called "Stopwatch" for the Mac. I was trying to use it's output (which screwed up in 2010) to feed a timesheet system and had to rewrite my date string parser as a result. So I know that one well. I just forgot about it (it was an annoyance for about an hour).

Well, there is the notion that a man may be pretending to be a woman so that he can play the "damsel in distress" card in order to lure some men into underestimating them. It would be a pretty lame thing to do, in my humble opinion.

I'm pretty sure that no self-respecting woman on this site would play the 'damsel in distress' card - they are the pretenders ;-)

The women here would *never* use that card. Of course, most of them are better than I am (OK, all of them are), so it would be me using the "gent in distress" plea.

I know of ladies on here that you are just as competant as, if not better Draug - don't do yourself down too much.
