Minor bug with units on map?

Italy had to disband a unit, and destroyed his fleet Spain. But the map shows both the explosion for a unit (army?) and his fleet still in place.

Pause request!!!!

moderators, i think his game should be paused. It started with only five players. Germany and italy in CD, so france goes for a walk!! austria not threetened from the north nor from the italian side, allies russia, who has no enemy other than england..., and both goes for the turk(me),
This is not a balanced game at all, now an italian has entered, he has france and austria over him!! in 1902!!
France and russia go for the english...

most enjoyable team variants?

Keen to start another but want to get some ideas about what people have found to be enjoyable and not.

i found 3 team variants more fun than 2, haven't tried 4 yet. But what is better, team "blocks" of adjacent countries or hedgehog type arraignment (ie germany and turkey or russia and italy)?
hedgehog might lead to more fun and unusual war plans but can also lead to one country being killed quite quickly, blocks might make for a more stable game but could also lead to static stalemate like front lines.

i was thinking of starting a game like this
4 teams,
england and turkey
germany and italy
france and austria
Russia

with the built in handicap for russia, the 1st year everyone ecept russia holds, russia is allowed to move to take Sweden and the black sea only.

of course that is of the top of my head so im more than willing to change it around.

what do you guys think?

Airborne - That isn't a particularly interesting game in my opinion (we tried it recently). EF just take out G, AT takes out R and then the two sides fight for Italian alliance. Italy can't afford to pick a side as whichever he picks will stab him, so you head towards a 5-way draw.

I think you might want to take totally different approach to the TEAM

Take seven teams of three players each.
You have everyone play 7 game each with each country and then each team changes players within its team every 3 years. The games all end in 1909. This way each game is a product of a team play,

Well that makes 4 of us at least, I think we'll be able to get 3 more in.
How long were you thinking for the phases? I would probably vote for 48hrs, as obviously it can be hard to get enough press to someone on the other side of the world, especially for a team game.

low pot for team game is best,

game ends when one team conquers all or when one team reaches 24(more?) sc?

i'd be keen for some team action sean..... I quite like the sound of your original proposal:

england and turkey
germany and italy
france and austria
Russia (allowed to take Sweden/Black Sea off the cuff).

This will allow for more diplomacy between each faction, rather than just working together as a team on tactical moves.

yes i like the sound of the 4 team game, are you ok with that set up figles,airbourne,GM,sav? with 48 hr turns we will surely have enough time to chat. teams will be decided by chance.

I know I'm rather junior compared to the rest of you, but I wouldn't mind taking a spot in that game, it sounds like a very fun and interesting variant, and the only one I've tried so far is gunboat, so it would certainly be intriguing to be a part of another one, let me know if it's ok with all of you?

sure ireland. the main thing is that we have honour rules and we must all agree to keep them, your team is your team,. no going off road and taking a solo.

I would not mind working with someone at all, and solo's are over-rated of course. It would certainly enjoy working with someone in-game that I didn't have to worry about being stabbed by, that would change the dynamic of the entire game completely. I'm in guys, just let me know about the game info when you create it.

Can someone explain how to join a game that is in the process of getting players? For instance, how do I know how much the chip bet is? Lets say I have 50 chips. How do I know if I can join that game or not?

issues with moves not being complete

This has happened in a few games, but i never really looked into it, it was usually one army that stayed, or moved the wrong way. This time the orders for 3 armies didnt do anything.

H!

Help! How do people pause or unpause games? Are there any other orders too? Can you please list them here? Is there an order to start a game if only 6 players are available? Or an order to quit game immediately?

Again, I hate to be this guy...

Same game, http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8265&msgCountry=Global, "Tarablus for President," is paused because yet another player was banned. The same honest player hasn't unpaused and is in CD in the other game I'm in with him. Can a mod please unpause? Hopefully this is the last time.
