Boggs over Pedro?

That's not a knock on Pedro. Obviously, with Pedro winning the WS, it's tough to say anything bad about him, but Wade Boggs averaged a .428 OBP during his years in Boston and averaged .338 at the plate. He got on base an average of 317 times between 1983 and 89. Not that Pedro doesn't have any ridiculous numbers of his own, but Boggs' are equally ridiculous. I don't think he gets enough fanfare because he didn't play for the team in the right era.

On Nolan Ryan: Best stuff ever, period, end of story, the first half of his career, finally learned how to pitch late in his career when his stuff was great, instead of impossible. His stuff was literally too good to control the first part of his career. Wins have one from overrated to underrated, but good lord did he play on some shitty teams, that has to be taken into account with him too.

Oh, he was a popper? Most people I know differentiate those as temporary boosts as opposed to permanent ones. I don't know a thing about it. I wouldn't argue that those are PEDs as well, but not to the degree that steroids are.

They're very possibly more of a boost than steroids. I just find it silly to differentiate. I'm sure most of the guys who used greenies used them because they were the best PED available. I don't see why they should be considered differently because the technology is different now.
