It's nothing against you, mendax, as I know you're a great player. But if I put money on the board, I'd want everyone else to as well.

I don't think anyone should get to play that did not pay.

I'll play without paying. Reliability rating is pretty high.

There are currently 16 players that have paid to be in the tournament. In order for all players to have spots in the tourney, I have to use "fillers" to make even boards. These players don't have the ability to place, win prizes, etc. They instead play for the competition and to ensure that no one that paid is left out. That's why I'm looking for high reliability to fill boards.

Don't take me wrong, this isn't a slight to those that are officially part of the tournament, but rather a way of honoring their paid position.

Could we spend a couple more days looking for some more people willing to pay?

And yea, Tru, I totally get that we don't want to kick anyone out who has paid. If we were talking 2-3 players, I think that would be fine, but we're currently talking about each board having 50% unofficial players.

I am happy to leave my donation in and back out of tournament, so you can get equal boards. I don't believe letting people partisapate who did not pay, is right. There are plenty of site sponsored tourneys that others can be in.

How many games would you guys want? If you wanted to you could just have 16 games where each person will get to participate in 7 or something. You could just have each player assigned to each individual game randomly.

If everyone goes to recent games they played and PMs the better players about the tournament, we might see the signups increase.

While I don't mind adding more paid players, nor do I mind playing as many games as needed, I do want to point out that not all of us have tons of points lying around. Until the tournament happens I have to constantly save some points back, which can make planning difficult.

It's not really ideal timing for me, which is why I didn't sign up originally, but if you get to 20 and can't find one last player then I'll buy in and play.

I don't want people dropping out. I tried posting this on my phone, but I got the new Galaxy S5 Active and, while it's nice, it doesn't handle these chat boxes very well. After I type two lines, I can't click "post reply" because it's buried behind the chat box.

Anyhow, if we can get the 5 players, then I have no problem stalling the tournament to start. I have heard from one player that he won't have the minimum bet size to get into games until he finishes one he's currently in.

As it stands, we are missing 2 players from 2 different boards and 1 player from a third board, so it's not half the players acting as fill-ins by any means.

We have Hellenic Riot if we can get 4 more.

Tru, I have the same problem with my Android. When you're done typing your message, rotate your phone to landscape mode and the Post Reply button should reappear.

For future reference I would have a preference for only full tournament players to actually take part in the games. Still, as this format is still very much in the teething stage and currently lacks the draw of the Masters or World Cup I have no objection to the fill-in concept this time. I wouldn't want us to make a habit of it though.
