Clearly Hamas was aiming for the Israel Defence Force's base at Camp Rabin, which is in central Tel Aviv, near the airport. It's disgusting that Israel would site a major military facility such as Camp Rabin in an area populated by civilians - using Israeli citizens as a human shield!

Mosques and facilities for disabled people are legitimate targets, but a military facility near an airport is not.

They have broken several ceasefires with Israel. The only reason so many Gazans are dying compared to Israelis is the Israeli defense system. I have some sympathy for Palestinians, but they need to make an attempt at peace. Israel will not put themselves at risk as a people, not after all the history of the Jewish people.

Really, which is it, you can't have it both ways--

Either the Iron Dome is SO good that Israel shouldn't attack, or it's Swiss Cheese, in which case...apparently Israel shouldn't defend itself even still, because you like Hamas and hate Israel regardless.

Either way here you have two military groups using time tested tactics of war, to achieve their own goals and wishes. Do I agree with the use of schools and hospitals as bases ? No. Do I agree with firing on civilian targets? No. But those are the facts of war, now in this situation I will admit I do not know a lot. I have done minor research, but what I have studied is military tactics and policy and from the American point of view we should be strongly encouraging our ally to promote peace and democracy in its sphere is risk losing our military support, and then with Israeli support provide weapons and training to Palestine so that it may begin securing it's own borders and work with Israel and the U.S to shut down extremist groups like Hamas. As the strongest power in the world the U.S has the ability to do this and it could help significantly

Supply Palestine with weapons? Surely that would go well. I believe we supplied some guys that were fighting the Russians with weapons once, and that went GREAT for us.

It's a war zone. Innocents get killed. If Israel were actively targeting civilians the death count would be in the tens of thousands, not the hundreds.
