Thank you Santa. The original thread was locked because I'm not letting porn on the site till Kestas says he's okay with it. Consider the actual justification rule 9, not ruining the site for younger kids who will get banned from the site when their parents see a porno thread on the front page. Or for students who's school will block keywords, most of which were found in that thread.

If only there was some button you could press to hide threads you don't want to see...

I had some Japanese torture porn videos I wanted to post there tonight. Some great stuff. Now I can't because that thread islocked and posting it in another thread is "getting around a locked thread" - a silencable offense.

It's been a while since we've had a thread like that, so I don't necessarily blame the mods for being overly cautious, especially as the site grows. I think the bigger problem was the flippant way ithe issue was communicates to the community.

I don't care who joins the site. My point is policy shouldn't be based off of what will make this site appropriate for children.

And, as I said, I was fine with that decision. But as Abgemacht points out, the way it was handled was questionable. Your post in the thread, particularly, was quite simply rude and disrespectful. You posted it as an official "cheating accusations possible" that we have seen in other threads then locked it.

Kids slip into R rated movies and lie to get on porn sites all the time. Like some "I swear I am 18" button is going to keep a 13 or 14 year old kid from clicking it? Shoudl we then stifle freedom of speech at the movies and across the whole of the web?

My point is that I'm not going to be the person who okay's porn on someone else's site.

Doing nothing is not approving of it. Locking the thread was fine, even (although arguably, the best course of action is no course of action until management makes the decision to change the policy) but making, even in jest, a claim that you couldn't see the links so assumed they were cheating accusations was wrong.

The follow up post should have been the only post on locking. A simple "Locked awaiting Kestas' decision" woudl have sufficed. Or better yet a "please refrain from posting links here until I get clarification from Kestas" would probably have worked as well.
