08 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1994: Good luck all and good fortune..
08 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1994: THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM..
08 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1994: Good luck all, nice higher stakes game, just like I hope we all like it. Don't miss your turns!! :)
16 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1996: I think you all figured out I am long winded but I sent this to an ally. But then it got me really thinking about the game (which we obviously love) and I thought it would be a good conversation for us as people who like Diplomacy rather than specific players.

I put XXXXX for the specific countries... though if you don't know who I am talking about you probably should play in lower pot games. Still I am talking to real people and am not trying to pick a fight and naming names is how you pick fights.

My impression of XXXXX and XXXXX is that they are good tacticians but not good diplomats... and the name of the game is literally Diplomacy.

It is very much like how humans are way weaker than tigers but still can kill most of them. The ability to cooperate is essential to long term success... and maybe they are talking to each other, ha and maybe they have been talking to everyone but me since day one... but I doubt it.

So all we need to do is last to the long term. Either eventually they will get frustrated and turn on each other or at time goes we will eventually get another ally... either way the team that communicates the best always wins out. There is no random chance, it is all skill but the skill is not moving armies but cooperation.

Major caveats... I think it is obvious neither of us will never put ourselves in a position where the other could hurt us unless there were no better seeming option. We are not actually "friends" we are diplomacy players and I assume we are playing to win. As long as we are open about that (and never forget it) it is rare where anyone must do or die completely on trust.

Also though I am a serious player... it is just a game. There is no money involved, no one dies. LOL even if you are secretly with XXXX/XXXX but just aren't as quiet and then you attack me just when I thought I was about to be saved... I can still have fun... because this is just a game.
18 Jun 16 UTC Autumn, 1996: New Spain. I fully expect to lose, but decided that a game with a post >250 needs full competition.
18 Jun 16 UTC Autumn, 1996: You are all class!
18 Jun 16 UTC Autumn, 1996: Your name will be remembered Spain ..TieDomi...huzzah huzzah huzzah
18 Jun 16 UTC Autumn, 1996: TieDomi is still here ;)
18 Jun 16 UTC Autumn, 1996: Welcome Spain!
18 Jun 16 UTC Autumn, 1996: That didn't last long
19 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: Well I was right about what would happen in Spain. I was right about what would happen in France. I was right about what would happen in the Middle East. I was right about what is currently going on in the North Sea. So please indulge me in this prediction.

It is too late. Turkey has won this game. The rest of you are fighting over second place. Congratulations, I would feel bad except you were warned.
19 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: You're only saying that he will win cos you are losing and soon to die
19 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: Britain and Germany have a good start too...
19 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: Yeah but they are fighting and no one is fighting Turkey. I was but I'm toast. By the time one of them beats the other Turkey will be three times as large. They are fighting for a distant second place.
19 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: we're not fighting
19 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: One of you is in the North Sea both of you want to be in the North Sea.

But my predictions have been wrong before... not this game so far but in other games my predictions have been wrong before.
19 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: I actually hope someone beats Turkey. Their bad playing style doesn't deserve to be rewarded with a solo win... but right now I would bet money they take the whole thing. Everyone else is a mess.
19 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: Except for the fact that the Turkey player hates soloing, and prefers playing for a 3-way draw....
20 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: I disagree Egypt..Russia has broken the east with unnecessary and fruitless war. By the time we recover form that Germany/Eng will realise that they can spilt to pot.maybe with Italy/Egypt/Turkey as the3rd to stabalise the alliance.

Hey E/G I could be the third lol..

Hats off to Poland who somehow convinced Russia to lose ??
20 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1997: Ukraine- I am not blaming anyone and you might be right about England and Germany making peace and ending out the victor... but based on what I have seen its Turkey. I can't stop them (you could have helped but bet in different directions). So Turkey will end up with most (if not all) of my remaining SC and as far as I can tell no one on this board knows how to cooperate with anyone.

So when cooperation is impossible victor goes to the best tactician.
