What's worst about all of this is that most of these shows are either on The History Channel or The Learning Channel.

And then there are the "ghost hunters" shows on SciFi that pretend they are really investigating and their equipment is more than stupid flashing lights. If you want to make fictional paranormal investigation series presented in a documentary style, do so. But take a lesson from Blair Witch Project and have your people die. don't try to make it seem like these are real scientists.

That pathetic part is apparently you are all aware of these shows. I couldn't tell you what half the shows mentioned are!

I'm only aware because they run commercials for this shit on real TV shows on *other* stations. USA always seems to have adds for the crap on SciFi. Now that there are only 2 or 3 media companies that own all the stations on cable, there is no more competition to make good stuff. And networks are just as bad. Ads for Survivor or Big Brother appear during the few decent shows (like Person of Interest or NCIS) all the time.

And then there are the ads for Inside Edition and Access Hollywood and shit which themselves tell us all about that stupid Honey Boo Boo and the latest on the Kardassians (like I give a fuck!).

IThat's one of the reasons I often intentionally wait until a show is over and then watch it on the DVR. I can fast forward through all the ads for this shit.

Gabriel Iglesias is awesome.. Tosh is funny as hell. Fluffy's the best around.

Anyone watching the shows Elementary, Once Upon a Time, or American Horror Story. Those are about the only show I actively keep up with.

Elementary is the best new show on this year. I love the way they have reworked Sherlock Holmes into the 21st Century. All the core elements are there: the drug addiction, the violin, the inability to not be active... Simply brilliant, and turning Watson into a companion to keep him from returning to his drug habits while, at the same time, actually providing a little insight that helps Holmes break through a particular challenge is excellent. This weeks episode was truly great as well. the initial twist I had already figured out, but the second twist at the end was a nice touch and really provided a great wrap up for Holmes to say "justice was served".

Another show along the same vein is Perception on TNT. I think it is scheduled to have a new season here shortly. It stars Eric McCormack and is part gritty crime drama and part Monk. Basically, darken Monk up so the humor is more House like and you get Perception.
