Magnavox Micromatic Cabinet Record Player
So, I bought a Magnavox Micromatic Cabinet Record Player circa 1968 at Goodwill today. I've never been a huge audiophile but this is still one of the best purchases I've ever made. I'm particularly impressed I was able to plug it in after more than 40 years and have it work right away.

Automatic Cancel
How come games that start with less than 7 players don't automatically cancel? If 2 or more countries don't even show up in a live game why does the system allow it be voted on? It seems like the countries that can get an immediate jump have no incentive to cancel.

Ok, I recently joined a no messaging game that had someone removed as a multi. The banner stills shows mail. How do I get that to go away?

Facebook Parenting, Or, How His Daughter Learned to Stop Bitching and Respect Her Parents
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl1ujzRidmU
I was a right shit to my parents at times at 15, especially my father, sure, who isn't as a teenaged boy...but if I'd EVER done or said what she did, I'd have been parented and HOW...and I'd NEVER post something that disrespectful on Facebook like that...but--her father works for Information Technology, and she did that and thought it was smart? Good for him, I say, good parenting...agree?

Too bad we can't let live games run with community watching and commentating and an honor system that players won't participate in the commentary. Live games would be much more fun! (I'm not in this game, but it sure does look interesting. Can't wait to read the EoGs!)

Can Texastough please go get a job or something and stop quitting in all our games.
...

MM, you played well that whole game, so I'm going to forgive that move, but taking Warsaw and not defending Berlin there was not wise.
EOG:

I actually wanted to go after Austria or France, but pansied out and went for the Lepanto. It almost worked, too, but Turkey thwarted it and texastough quit again, so I went for France. By about 1904 everyone was clicking draw, and obviously in retrospect I should have clicked it :p but I figured if Russia and Austria could get their shit together we could easily 4wd without Turkey or Germany, so I didn't draw and tried to work a 2-front war. Stalled England really well, nearly managed to oust Turkey, but Austria didn't cover Greece one fall and I realized I wouldn't have time to KO Turkey and get builds to defend against England. Went to hold off England, seriously had everything going well, then I let him into Venice on a really stupid move. I don't know what happened with the NMR, but it definitely partially cost us the game, so my bad on that.

All in all I'd like to thank texastough for the free SCs, congratulate jc on a great win, and apologize to the coalition for the two or three big gaffes I had that contributed to the loss. We'll get 'em next time, guys.

I admit it wasn't a fully deserved victory because of France's CD, but I feel I made some good moves in the game especially Germany's stab. Also, Russia-Austria fight helped me a lot.

I open strong against Russia and that falls apart pretty quick. I see the emerging A/I alliance and know I am in a fight for my life. I make amends with R and shift forces. I was always on the defensive. I do what I can to keep Russia viable in the Balkans. I and A never break their alliance even as the West sees E rising as F quits. I am powerless to affect any change in the west. A and I refuse to draw. E offers draw when it has advantage and A will not accept. I scratch my already bald head and know I am in for a long game. Finally, I can get my fleets out to aid I reluctantly. A does nothing to help stop the E tide. I pound at Greece to get him to do something. A wasted turn his head is hard. I move to stem the E tide. I fails to enter moves at a crucial point and the game is over.

E was generous to offer draw when he did. Too bad A and I were too hardheaded to take it.
Nah, you earned it, jc. France's CD was unfortunate, but we still had an opportunity to stop you and you outplayed us.
Yeah, Turkey, gotta admit I was holding out to get rid of you. I had hoped Austria and Russia could chill out, especially when they both had draw votes.

BTW, Austria didn't hold out from the draw when you said he did, that was just me. Just to clarify.

Oh yeah the best part. The play here is outstanding and I would love to play with all of you guys again minus F. Italy, it happens and I am sure you would have stemmed the tide had your orders worked. Thanks all, off to put lotion on the open wound I rubbed on my scalp trying to stay alive against you all.
