You've choked a smurf?

In two days time, the British PM will be driven from Downing Street to Buckingham Palace, and will ask the Queen to dissolve Parliament, formally calling a General Election (stay with me...)

As a few of you know, I work for the Conservatives in the UK (boo hiss!) at a reasonably senior level in the back rooms. I quite simply will not have enough time to devote to play my three remaining Masters games over the next month or two as I'll be pulling very long shifts at HQ.

If we win, then I'll be flung straight into post-election fever, and the start of a new Conservative Government which I will have a very small, but important, role to play. I will not have time to pick the games up from the sitter either.

Basically, I am looking for a kindly soul, preferably someone I've played with in the past, but if not then not to worry, to take over these three games and play them to their conclusion. If you are willing, please could you post your consent below, or email me, and I'll let you have my password etc. If not, I'll be letting TGM know I'll be pulling out of the three games so he can find me a replacement.

I will also be taking a prolonged break from webDip until near the end of the year. I've been playing on this site since November 07, and I need a break. I've played a heck of a lot of games, and have got to the stage where I have a sense of mild panic whilst at dinner that I haven't entered any moves for a particular game! I think I've done pretty well over that time - 7th in the Ghost Ratings, I've just won the Premier League, and have broken into the top 150 on points - the latter is something that I've never really worried about though.

I've had a few hiccoughs along the way (sorry to those I have annoyed - you know who you are), but I've also made a lot of friends - Flashman, TGM, The MasterGamer, sean, destp and figle to name a few. It's been fun, but I know when it's time to say,

im saddened after reading your post cgwhite, and i dont even know you. But i do know that feeling about "did i forget to move?" and "When will russia betray me, now or next autumn?" that crops up at odd times. I wish you good luck in the elections, across the water im a conservative myself (hold your applause, please.) i would offer to pick up your games, but im simply not good enough as my point lvl and mel1980 will gladly tell you. anyway, sad to see you go after coming so far, though once again i didnt even play with you.

I think I won, having been mentioned at least 3 times in that post.

Er, just realised that there are negative implications in that statement. All I intended was that we would be able to spout proud amongst ourselves that, 'we were there'.

Hahahahaha, We were there playing diplomacy as the infamous budget of 2010 was being drafted in the background :P

I was thinking more of a Profumo type scandal going on in the room next door while we were plotting to stab each other. Someone would have been screwed for certain...

I may not be qualified, but if you don't find a more suitable sitter I could do it. I communicate very frequently and have had moderate success so far (also I play a lot of ftf diplomacy at a Strategy games club).

Finally, Downing Street 'sources' have just confirmed the election is indeed on May 6th. There's a lot of ifs, but you never know what Dip locations may be possible ;)
