So, I was wondering...
I'm supporting my fleet with two of my armies to a territory.
The enemy support-holds his army in the aforementioned territory with only one army. Normally, I would win. However, if he attacks one of my supporting armies that are in adjacent territories - does he manage to defend himself? A hasty reply would be good.
Thanx in advance!

Locked game: WalnutCreek
I see it sitting there, started with 2 parties having left... I'd be interested in joining it but because it's locked, that's a bit hard. It seems silly to have a game just sitting there unplayable.

The green dots telling you that someone is currently logged on
I might be wrong about this but I have the feeling that those green dots also show up sometimes although the person is not online.
Just had that in one of my games where there was a dot after the French, that was then gone some minutes afterwards. Still it says: last logged on some hours ago.

obiwanobiwan (248 D)
03 Sep 09 UTC
But first, the ballot:

YOUTH:
-Luke Skywalker (movies IV-VI only, the CLASSICS)
-Captain James T. Kirk (we're using TOS Trek, classic+fits best with this format)
-Frodo Baggins
-Arthur Dent
-Will Turner

FOIL/SCOUNDREL/SIDEKICK:
-Han Solo
-Spock
-Sam
-Ford Prefect
-Captain Jack Sparrow

COMIC DUO
-C-3PO+R2-D2
-Sulu+Chekov (most common humor pair, Scotty's a solo artist) ;)
-Zaphod's two heads (cheating a bit, but ah well...)
-Pintel and Ragetti

THE WISE OLD MENTOR:
-Obi-Wan Kenobi (good name!) ;)
-Captain Christopher Pike (closest thing)
-Gandalf
-The Book
-Tiadalma (wise... young... voodooo-type godess?) :p

THE HERO'S PROTECTOR(S)
-Chewbacca
-MCCoy+Scotty together
-Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli
-Marvin the Paranoid Android (why not?) :p
-Mr. Gibbs

STRONG FEMALE
-Princess Leia
-Uhura
-Eyewyn (sorry if it's mispelled; and I have her over Arwen, but she can be a write-in) ;)
-Trillian
-Elizabeth Swann

HERO'S ARMY
-Rebel Alliance
-Starfleet
-The Army of Middle Earth (Gondor, Rohan, the Elves... etc.)
-Ummm... The Book's Publishers?
-The Pirate Brethren Court

HERO'S VEHICHLE
-X-Wing
-NCC-1701 USS Enterprise (as Scotty said, "No bloody A, B, C, OR D.")
-The Eagles
-The Heart of Gold
-The Black Pearl

I'll vote in a bit- let the geek-fest begin (boy would it be embarassing if no one voted...)

THE WISE OLD MENTOR:-Gandalf
THE HERO'S PROTECTOR(S)-MCCoy+Scotty together

YOUTH:- luke (perfect for the role - noble, clueless, and very green)
FOIL/SCOUNDREL/SIDEKICK: Han solo - a scoundrel and a gentleman
COMIC DUO- gimli and legolas, inter-species homosexuals, yeah for LOTR pushing boundaries

THE WISE OLD MENTOR:- gandalf
THE HERO'S PROTECTOR(S)- terminator (custom fucking designed for your needs)
STRONG FEMALE- terminator summer glau (really strong:)
HERO'S ARMY- BSG crew (if you were facing the end of the universe would you really want Starfllet, a bunch of smart boys and girls in smart jumpsuits who follow the rules behind you? or a gritty kill or be killed veteran bunch like BSG?)
HERO'S VEHICHLE- Millennium Falcon- takes a kicken' but keeps on ticken'

Jamiet99uk (1307 D)

Youth - Kirk
Foil / Sidekick - Spock (Han Solo is the coolest, but he's so similar to Kirk...)
Comic Duo - C3PO and R2D2
Wise Old Mentor - Obi Wan
Hero's Protector - McCoy and Scotty (McCoy is far and away the best Star Trek character, and the guy they cast in the role in the new film captures him (_superbly_)
Strong Female - Leia
Hero's Army - The Rebel Alliance (much cooler than stuffy old Starfleet)
Hero's Vehicle - NCC 1701 (if it has to be compared with an X-Wing - but why didn't you offer the Millennium Falcon, a much cooler vehicle??)

@Sean: I think the idea is that you vote for things on obiwanobiwan's list, so you're not really allowed the Terminator, etc.

I dont think im a geek...2 varisty sports in HS and 1 in college, but quite obviously Star Wars and LotR have to pick up all the geek emmy's between them. Young' un has to go to luke. Elder advisor has to go to Gandalf (with all due respect to Obiwan) and villian really cant be decided...Vadar/the Emporer vs Sauron/Sauraman? Toss up.
Draugnar (0 DX)

Youth - Luke
Scoundrel - Captain Jack Sparrow (close second, Han Solo)
Comic Duo - Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took (a write-in vote)
Mentor - Gandalf
Protector -Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli
Strong Female - Xev/Zev Bellringer (LEXX write-in) Part human, part cluster lizard, all incredibly hot female who liked to get naked and had the hots for a dead guy.
Army - League of Non-aligned worlds (B5 write in - they stood down the Shadows and the Vorlons at the same time).
Vehicle - the LEXX (another write-in). You think the death star was bad-ass? Yeah right!

@Jamie - the original poll even includes an optional write-in for Arwen, so they must be allowed.

@obiwan - it's spelled Eowyn, only cause you said you weren't certain of the spelling, and you are right, she is tougher than Arwen considering she is a human and not an immortal elf.
I'd like to throw in a write-in for sidekick - Inigo Montoya.

I'd answer differently for every question if I could include different series!

YOUTH:
-Luke Skywalker

FOIL/SCOUNDREL/SIDEKICK:
-Han Solo

COMIC DUO
-C-3PO+R2-D2

THE WISE OLD MENTOR:
-Gandalf

THE HERO'S PROTECTOR(S)
-Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli

STRONG FEMALE
-Elizabeth Swann

HERO'S ARMY
-Rebel Alliance

HERO'S VEHICHLE
-NCC-1701 USS Enterprise
Draugnar (0 DX)
03 Sep 09 UTC
Hibiskiss, write-ins are allowed. Obiwan even specified Arwen could be a write-in for Strong Female if we so desired.
Hibiskiss (631 D)
03 Sep 09 UTC
Well, these would be my write-ins!

FOIL/SCOUNDREL/SIDEKICK:
-John Cavil (Battlestar Galactica)

COMIC DUO
-Spiderman + Anyone (Comics)

STRONG FEMALE
-Starbuck (Battlestar Galactica)

HERO'S ARMY
-Autobots (old cartoons - SHUTUP IT'S UNDENIABLE)

HERO'S VEHICHLE
-Timer (Sliders), although LEXX is pretty badass and the only thing actually alive.

@ural - I did up above. See quote below. And I like River Tam. I didn't think of Summer Glau's character from Firefly. Her giving a serious ass kicking at the end of Serenity was f-ing AWESOME!

idk i would have had different nominees than what you had those are almost too mainstream lol
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

OK, so we have some really awesome picks going on here it looks like...

Not a lot of love for Frodo, though... and only one for Arthur- are you Brits not fans of them anymore?

Well, I'm going to vote, and then- can someone good with math do a tabulation so we can get an idea of the standings, I always mess up the math...

Youth: Luke (He's just so perfect for it... Frodo and then Dent... Kirk's too seasoned for a "youth")

Sidekick/Foil: This is the hardest for me... Sam, Han, Jack Sparrow, and Spock all are really close... I'll take Spock, though, for dying for his youth (and coming back!)

Comic Duo: Between 3-P0/R2 and Merry and Pippin... by sheer weight of their being the more recognized pair, I'll take the droids here.

Mentor: Really between Obi-Wan and Gandalf, they're both very much the same, great character, a Merlin archetype... but Gandalf is seperated from Frodo in the first part of that trilogy and then doesn't give him guidance for really the rest of the way, and Obi-Wan is there in all three parts giving Luke moral guidance- I'll take my namesake. ;)

Protectors: Another tough one... but Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli are just perfect here.

Strong Female: Eowyn (thanks for the spelling help) and Uhura are good, but Leia's a legend, and the pick here.

Army: Hmmm... obviously not The Book's Publisher's lol... and the Pirate Brethren really not so good here either in my opinion... Starfleet's good, but not quite mythical enough... it's between the Alliance and the Armies of Middle Earth- and in the Romantic tradition, I'll take Middle Earth's Army.

Vehicle: First I should say the Millenium Falcon IS the better choice for SW; I guess I just considered it Han's vehicle and thus not the Hero's vehicle, but it fits better on second though, but both X-Wing and the Falcon are allowed. Anyway- I like all of the choices a LOT (except for Frodo's horses lol) but if I had to choose between the Falcon, the Pearl, the Heart of Gold, and the original Enterprise... the Heart of Gold has it's drive, but is also a big target and winds up in too much trouble... the Pearl ditto... and I just cannae see Scotty letting the Enterprise be beaten by a wee Falcon. ;) The Original Enterprise is the pick here.

Villian... I wasn't going to include that, but since it's been brought up... I'm torn between the Emperor and Sauron- both really share a lot of their credit as villians to their killer subordinates Sauroman and Darth Vader... I'd like to say Emperor easily because he destroyed a planet but that was Vader, after all... still, the Emperor didn't just take over the world/galaxy like Sauron, but went on and committed genocide and killed almost all the Jedi (throw out all the books and other Star Wars stuff that are really poor and just cash cows, and it looks like just Ob-Wan and Yoda escape the genocide- THAT's wickedly evil) so I'll take the Emperor just over Sauron.

And yes, Invictus- I do make complicated threads, don't I lol, but then they are plenty of fun, are they not (and oh dear, my geek most certainly is showing.) ;)

Just starting on PHP, though I've played on FB a bit. On FB, if you update but do not Finalize, the updates go through as your moves. Is that the case here?
Looking forward to this site. Hope to see a lot less people bailing on games early.
