28 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 2004: [Europe]:Nope- especially when your people speak portugese!! A dogs language would be better! Woof!
28 Aug 11 UTC Spring, 2004: [Brazil]:Chupar um ovo!
04 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Kenya]:Heyguys im gonna be away from comp. For awhile with no internet on my phone
It will be 2 days can i please get a pause?
04 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Brazil]:Pause submitted
04 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Pacific-Russia]:sounds good
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Near-East]:Brazil, want to bring this here? You insist on trying to turn my allies against me based on nothing and it must be clear to you by now that none of us have any intention of turning on each other. I think Oz who has experienced your manipulation first hand will agree that it is not I who is disloyal or dishonest.
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Europe]:I'll help you into the med brazil
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Brazil]:Are you a kid calling me out on the playground? This is ridiculous. Please grow up . . .
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Near-East]:No, but you call me a liar behind my back consistently while being the liar yourself. It has gotten to the point where it's making the game unenjoyable for me.
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Europe]:Brazils attitude has been like that
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Brazil]:Then I think you are getting to the point you got me too last week.
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Pacific-Russia]:Lets just draw this game I am sick of it. Its supposed to be a game of "diplomats" not a bunch of crying douche bags.
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Brazil]:Thank you- I voted "draw" yesterday.
05 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Western-Canada]:The game is called Diplomacy and has the following description from the original makers:

"Luck plays no part in Diplomacy. Cunning and cleverness honesty and perfectly-timed betrayal are the tools needed to outwit your fellow players. The most skillful negotiator will climb to victory over the backs of both enemies and friends. Who do you trust?"

That being said, I understand that there are all types of players with all types of styles - some would like it to be a gentlemans game, some will creatively lie and misdirect as part of gamesmanship, and some are just poor players that just bring the level of the game down and seem to thrive by disrupting others who are investing their time and enegy in the game.

I play Diplomacy on four different site, and have been playing the game for decades. On all those sites and in all that time, I have never received the types of insulting, personal messages I have during this game. I have heard players on other sites comment on the low quality of player on this site and, until this game, I actually tried to defend WebDip players...

Rather than being disgusted and walking away from the game, may I suggest the following:

Those players that have acted within the concept of the game and avoided personally insulting attacks (note I did not say lies as lies are part of the game) should band together against the "offending" players...and by now we all know who we are.

Once the offending players have been eliminated, we draw.

Adult, mature comments on the above welcome and encouraged as, hopefully, we all entered this game (and it is just a game) for the enjoyment of playing it with others. Let's get this one over and go on to future games. I trust you will all, as I have, taken note of the offending players so you can either avoid playing with them in the future or, if you ever are unfortunate enough to find yourself in another game with them, can devote all your efforts to defeating them as soon as possible
06 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Near-East]:I think Western Canada's suggestion is best and that, friends, is largely why I believed this to be best settled in Global. There can be no secret plotting behind each others backs now without a great deal of shame for breaking your word. I'll agree to that proposal.
06 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2005: [Brazil]:Gentlemen/ Ladies-

In over 20 years of mail and net Diplomacy, I have never not finished a game or missed a turn. That said, I just have been personally insulted and ridiculed for the final time. This is ridiculous, there is no joy in this game. I am utterly disappointed and am personally hurt. The accusations are beyond belief.

I am done. My apologies to those who understand the spirit of this "game." It (can be) a beautiful game that makes friendships and bonds people together.
06 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2006: [Europe]:Take the med and mid east along with my sc brazil!! U can win!
06 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2006: [Pacific-Russia]:chill Europe

06 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2006: [Europe]:I'll help brazil n Canada kill u lol
06 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2006: [China]:Just as Navada remains a haven for Americans, the Philipines and Western China now support two once great civilizations.
07 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2006: [Western-Canada]:Er, you can take the Philippines off that list...
07 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2006: [Pacific-Russia]:Russia still has Livonia area or Bst.
07 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2006: [China]:Well, my race is extinct.
13 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2007: [Pacific-Russia]:Cant we just all draw?
13 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2007: [Western-Canada]:The people of Western Canada would be open to a draw once Europe has been eliminated from the game.
13 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2007: [Oz]:Yeah, I've voted for a draw as well.
13 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2007: [Near-East]:I'll draw too - the three close to death countries are, well, close to death.
13 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2007: [South-Africa]:Brazil would have no problem going for the gold
14 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2007: [Brazil]:???
14 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2007: [Pacific-Russia]:whale(redneck drawl) I reckon that them Brazilians make guyood stayke howses! Of corse hes makin him some a dat gold!
14 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2007: [Kenya]:wtf^
15 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Oz]:Once Kenya is out can we just draw?
15 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Near-East]:That was what I was intending. Brazil seems more interested in keeping Kenya alive.
15 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Pacific-Russia]:I want to draw !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
15 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2007: [Kenya]:draw or fight i dont care
17 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2008: [Near-East]:Brazil: Please take the Congo while allowing me to take South Africa. I will support you into Nambia the next turn and we can have a draw.
18 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 2008: [China]:Wow, first time I've seen an NE do remotely well...
28 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2010: [Europe]:Looks like a 3 way draw once NE is gone huh?
28 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2010: [Europe]:Oh and oz too
29 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2010: [Brazil]:4-way. Gonna let Kenya survive too.
30 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2010: [Europe]:Well let him take Kenya proper at least otherwise he should be called Congo or Ethiopia lol
30 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2010: [Europe]:Madagascar and south Australia are independent nations it seems
30 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2010: [Pacific-Russia]:ill take Madagascar.
30 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2010: [Brazil]:Kenya will be Kenya.

And the Aborigines deserve a homeland, yes?
30 Sep 11 UTC Autumn, 2010: [Europe]:Lol! No they were immigrants from Asia too- just got landlocked after the sea levels rose
02 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 2011: [Western-Canada]:@ Brazil & Pac-Russia: My units will all hold in place this turn as we seem to have taken the lands of our last remaining opponents...
03 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 2011: [Brazil]:Holding until Near-East is labeled "defeated", then I'll draw too.

End of the build phase I think.
