03 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1999: Cuba here - open to alliance proposals. Florida, Mexico, South America let me know what you want and how we might work together to achieve it. |
04 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1999: Certainly we can ally up against Mexico. Florida too perhaps although I don't want to overextend myself. Looks like you're going to have trouble getting supply centers right out of the gate. I could help you take that region south of Mexico. I trust you will become master of the sea |
04 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1999: Hi, yall aware that these messages are visible to everyone in the game? I guess it's good to know who doesn't mind allying against me.... ;) |
04 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1999: Lol shit |
05 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1999: Hahaha, this isn't a ploy right? |
05 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1999: A quick description of how waterways work as there was confusion. Waterways can be thought of as a normal black border, but fleets can navigate them. So a fleet (or army) in Montreal can reach Ontario, Bea, and Quebec. It cannot reach NYS, Gasp, etc. Let me know if any of the rules are unclear. |
06 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1999: I like to think of it this way: every border is one of three types: sea, coast, and inland. Fleets can cross sea and coast borders, while armies can cross coast and inland borders. The waterways are coast borders, so either fleets or armies can cross them. |
10 Dec 15 UTC | Autumn, 1999: That Manitoba unit looks so lonely. |
10 Dec 15 UTC | Autumn, 1999: It's nothing compared to Greenland. |
15 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 2000: How does fleet movement work in central america? Can you swap coasts once you have a fleet in a country? |
15 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 2000: Some zones have two coasts; a fleet can be either one, but cannot move overland between them. This includes Guat, Hond, Nicar, Costa R, and Cali. Other zones, such as Panama, are special - they have canals. They have no coasts. Fleets can move from them to either bordering sea space, effectively allow them to pass (in two moves) from one sea to another. If you follow the variant link at the top of the page, and then follow the link to the variant homepage, there are more details and a map with the coasts written on it. |
15 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 2000: Got it, thank you! Is it just me or is this map difficult to read? All the armies are the same color!! Hard to tell who is who... |
15 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 2000: The colors behind them are what tells you who is who. Also hitting the button to pop out the map to its own page helps a lot. |
17 Dec 15 UTC | Autumn, 2000: As I mentioned in one of the original emails, Matt (NY) and Jeff (HL) will be without Internet December 27 thru January 1. We're going to attempt a pause. So everyone EXCEPT MATT click pause. Matt, click pause on December 26. We can do this. |

09 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 2001: Since Mexico didn't submit any orders, and I probably shouldn't have gotten Guadalajara, do people feel that I should build one less unit than usual? |
09 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 2001: Nah, as bad as not submitting orders is, mistakes like that are part of the game. You shouldn't feel any obligation to compensate. |
09 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 2001: It's a shame, but agreed. |
10 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 2001: Yeah but fuck Mexico. |
10 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 2001: I mean, maybe Mexico is going through some shit IRL. But also maybe the government shut down and there is civil disorder because Texan tanks are rolling into town. YEEE HAAAW!!! |
