Also, doesn't one usually only have one regional specialization? I'm at one of the best IR schools in the country and that's how its done (of course, am I an IR student? Nope. Really taking advantage of my school's strengths :/ )

But I have a few people I could send you their emails who do security analysis. My professor for World Politics just came back from a tour in Afghanistan doing that

You got a link for that Santa? I've seen stuff about the East Timor elections but not violence.

And yeah we have regional specialties here too, mine is Africa and I got hired partly on that basis but for this assignment I'm also assigned East Asia and Europe.

And technically my "focus" is on development and the environment, lol. But any IR major worth his salt should be able to do security analysis I guess. Haha. It's fun, it's hard work too, surprisingly.

I love how your definition of "Europe" excludes those areas that have substantial security issues. ;-)
