World games not showing up on profile?
Maybe this has been touched on before. Is there some reason the world variant games aren't showing up in people's profiles?

GFDT Finished
With a slightly pathetic (and also tiredness/apathy induced) 5 way draw.
That means that its shared between Braveheart, stratagos, Centurian, Darwyn and TheGhostmaker.

Congratulations Braveheart, stratagos, Centurian, Darwyn :)

Oh all right then, well done Ghost :)

and two NMRs in the last turn? wild. so who won the tournament?
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)
14 Jan 10 UTC
All five of us.

My NMRs were actually just normal all holds.
djbent (2572 D(S))
14 Jan 10 UTC
ah. five of you win the tournament? how can that be?? there must be only ONE!!!!
Alderian (2425 D(S))
14 Jan 10 UTC
So what, keep playing that final group of people until one finally gets the win? That could take awhile.
stratagos (3269 D(S))
15 Jan 10 UTC
and we're all fried. Personally, if that's the decision, I will be happy to bow out and let the others fight it out.
Centurian (3257 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
It was the three day phases. Ugh. Plus the west was at peace all game. At least me and Braveheart eliminated some people.
Braveheart (2408 D(S))
15 Jan 10 UTC
I must admit i didnt fully understand the scoring... I actually thought that if it was a draw then it went to the person who finished highest in the 2nd round tables.

Regardless, the scoring probably needs to be worked out as very unlikely to get a winner from one single game and I assume you want most tournaments to finish with some kind of proper ranking. 3 day turns (with pauses) is also pretty brutal in terms of draining away any kind of excitment.

anyway - well done everyone. was an interesting 14 months.

Jesus Christ, himself, would have difficulties curing this lameness.
djbent (2572 D(S))
15 Jan 10 UTC
sorry, i didn't mean that people should have kept playing the game - more along the lines of what Braveheart said. the scoring system shouldn't allow for 5 winners, but only one.
thewonderllama (100 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
The final round was scored that way to ensure that everyone has something worth fighting for. That places the five drawers as tied for 1st and Chrispminis in 6th. The first step's a doosy.

Unfortunately I didn't anticipate the problems the 3 day phases would have. I had actually thought it would increase the diplomacy and thus the level of play. Won't be making that mistake again. :)
stratagos (3269 D(S))
15 Jan 10 UTC
We still had a decent number of NMRs to contend with, even with three day phases
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
Some weren't NMRs so much as people not attacking each other. I know that I didn't NMR at any stage.
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
I hadn't anticipated the problems of the 3 day phase either. Also slowed the tournament down (why are we finishing '08 in '10? hmmmm)
figlesquidge (2131 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
Perhaps next time they should be run in such a way to keep within one year.
Perhaps start them at Easter? that would probably make it finish at Christmas?
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
It wouldn't finish at Christmas. I suggest reducing the phaselength of Round 1 to 25hrs, or something similar.
figlesquidge (2131 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
Agreed 3-day is too long.
How about 50hr until 1905 then 25hr?
jbalcorn (429 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
Can that be done? Change the phaselength at a certain point?

Or is that just something Kestas could do by changing the database?
thewonderllama (100 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
Moderators now have that capability.
figlesquidge (2131 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
And given Wonder's organising it that would be an option (up to him clearly, although if done I don't mind helping implement)

Why did F Aeg->Gre with support from Bulgaria not work. Support from Albania was cut and Austria was pointing north.
