Operation Unthinkable....
Could it have worked? Could it have ever been feasible? If so, could it have wiped out Communism and prevented or ended the Cold War?

Live game for experienced players (no newbies)
Please post whoever is online now and interested in joining a private live game.
I guess a fine rule to avoid multiaccounters would be that you must have finished some games. Anybody?

Game Glitches
Game; http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=13648&msgCountry=Russia&rand=35162#chatboxanchor

Seems to be experiencing several ‘internal’ glitches including the rotation back a round, messages appearing then opened and reappearing unopened, messages not posting, etc.

Microsoft Security Essentials
In a nutshell its a free anti-virus from Microsoft, just moved out of beta. A slimmed down version of OneCare, and its getting good reviews. Hopefully now Symantec will finally die

Damn, I knew there was someone I forgot. H.G. Wells is *the master* of horror science fiction. Food of the Gods, War of the Worlds, The Invisible Man, The Time Machine. Classics.
Thanks but damn Thucydides! I haven't heard anyone use the word "boss" that way since the '60's.
Douglas Adams is an amazing author Plastic Hussar. I just finished his book, "The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy." Amazing book. I couldn't stop laughing.
And there's still four more books in the trilogy!
Oh my goodness. I couldn't read the rest. I've attempted several times. The rest seem like the same thing and actually do get boring. The first one is a good read. I actually do have the whole set in one book. I decided before-hand that I would only venture through the first book.

What is it about the Twilight series so that it could appeal to a guy? An acquantance of mine read the book (he got made fun of a lot becaues of it) and he doesn't seem like the girly girlish type.

Vampires and sucking blood. It's a girl thing. What is it you like?
Really I read it because 32 (out of 100) of my sixth grade kids had read or were reading it last year. I liked the fact that there was some actual action to it. Yes, it got tedious wading thorugh the angst and emotions, but the last 200 pages of each book was pretty decent. I put her down as a favorite more because I like teaching the material rather than actually reading it though. In her second book she does develop a pretty good sense of humor as well.
For humour its hard to beat "The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 and 3 quarters" by Sue Townsend. I laughed so much it hurt. It is very very funny.

Dr. Death
Dr. Death, or Kavorkian as his real name is, spoke at a local college a few days ago, so I'm wondering what some of your opinions are on him and what he did.

For those of you who won't know, Kavorkian was engaging in physician assisted suicide, and he was imprisoned a few years back, and he's out now.
