Could someone unpause this game, please?
The game is here: http://www.phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=9891

France is about to die as soon as the game unpaused. Our France was kicked out for some issue, and the new France hasn't unpaused and hasn't shown up again yet.

Obamas' new dog
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/04/12/obama-daughters-to-get-portuguese-water-dog-named-bo/

It's a Black Portuguese Water-dog named "Bo". It's planned to arrive at the White House by Tuesday I believe. What do you guys think? (I was personally rooting for a German Shepard)

With one of the girls allergies, this is a good choice of dog. It's bigger so the kids can play with it. It's better for the allergies as it doesn't shed much. And the breed is a very loyal and friendly breed. As unusual as it is, I think it will make a great companion to the kids when Mom and Dad are out taking care of business/being TV stars.

I'm not a huge fan of Portuguese water dogs, but it is a good choice if one of the children has an allergy. German Shepherds, while being my favourite breed (I've got four), shed as if they were small wooden structures that store various tools and gardening implements.

This is a textbook example of liberals trying to distract the public from Obama's inactions or very poor actions.

He's also a pansy. He called the North Korean missile launch "provocative". If McCain was in office, North Korea would consist of craters, wasteland, and not much more.

I know the breed well as it is from my country.
They were really used by fishers because they are great swimmers and helped with the nets.
They very easy to teach.
It seems that now they are very popular in the USA.

Anyway, I love dogs and my favourite breed is Rhodesian Ridgeback.

@diplomat Good thing McCain's not in office then. A series of nuclear blasts in North Korea that would wipe it out would cause devastating climate ripple effects throughout the world - assuming that nobody else responded to the nuclear attack.

What a complete tool.

And no one finds that sickening?
There are far more interesting/important things going on out there. Anyone go outside and read a book lately?

Chrispminis (916 D)

Onar, there are more important things out there, but most people aren't willing to do anymore than debate about them anyway. A discussion about dogs is more likely to incite productive action than a debate about American foreign policy. Dogs are interesting for people who've owned dogs.
Onar (131 D)

My new opinion of WTA
In principle, it's a better system than PPSC because it encourages winning at all costs. I, however, have noticed some of its shortfallings, and they mainly have to do with the question of how minor powers ought to play. If you have no chance of actually winning the thing, why play rationally? It's so much more fun to go completely berserk in hopes of messing up the ultimate outcome.

What is the best diplomatic coup you have ever engineered during a game? Not tactics, I'm talking about the cut and thrust of the chat sections. I want to hear about your genius.

Private games are not listed in "Active" list. Why not?
Games started as private don't appear to get listed in the Active games list. Why would that be? I can understand why they wouldn't get listed in Joinable, but why exclude them from the Active list?

Probably a simple one, but I don't have a rule book handy:

Can fleets convoy armies across the weird land/sea territories? E.g., could F Denmark convoy A Kiel to Sweden?
