Technically, the US isn't a Christian country. I'm not Christian, I'm an atheist (although I happen to like getting presents on the 25th you understand...). Fact is, I don't tell people not to take Christmas break just because we're not Christians all of us. Fact is, a majority are in the US, so we work to serve the majority by taking Christmas off. It's the only way things can work, unless there's either (a) breaks whenever "religion" wants, or (b) no breaks ever.
Same here. Yeah its not fair. Hahahaha! I live in a "Christian" country and you don't. That's life, laugh at me when I go back to college and you're sitting on your ass, taking time to finalize your dip moves. But this fairness argument just doesn't work in our society, it can't work.
That said, we can just the same have no break, but it would definitely help the majority if we took a break. So, do you have a problem with helping people out, even if you have to break from Diplomacy for 48, maybe 72 hours? You obviously have no problem with continuing play during your break, or you would have asked for that instead of asking for what you did: that we shouldn't get a break at all and risk losing games just because you love your family more than taking Sweden or Constantinople. So are you compassionate, or just want the upper hands in your games?
This isn't real war, and people have lives (most importantly at Christmas time). So why not be nice? Hell it's Christmas, what better time, right? Sorry that took so long to say.
Merry Christmas!!!
