Diplomacy MBTI
Hi everyone,
As of late, I have been studying the Myers' Briggs' personality type indicator, and find it very interesting. So I've decided to poll certain groups of people. If you don't know your type, take the test here. http://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test

I'm an INFP, and I suspect most of you here are some type of rational(analyst), or NT. Let me know what it is!

Time for another one.
Card games are fun. Just ask a gambler.

I want a few more games as mine start to thin down. Probably 3-7 games, not sure if I want a series just yet. Depends on the interest from others.

Replacement Germany needed
We're looking for a replacement Germany in game:
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=148522

Germany missed a phase, but tons of opportunities. And the game is filled with experienced players. It's anon, but (oddly enough) people are revealing themselves on public chat. So take a look there if you want to know. I've removed the password, so it's free to join.

Due to recent forum discussions on whether or not bo_sox can or cannot be verified to have a penis, it has occurred to me that the English language is missing any word to describe, "the anatomy of the withered stump that remains after castration of a eunuch." This is an oversight that I think we as a community need to remedy. Please submit your nominations for the terminology in this thread, and be ready to vote for a winner.

Let's just call it "BO"

As in, "Man I used to have a massive wang but after that horrible grain threshing accident all I have left is this Bo?"

Simple, elegant. I like it.

How about "Garp"?

Garp? For the disjecta membra of Bo's nether regions? I'm not sure...

"In recent years, there has arisen an aversion to the use of the word "stump" in referring to that part of the limb that is left after amputation, and attempts have been made to find another term that could be used. This has proven to a difficult, if not impossible, task because there is no synonym in the English language for "stump." The terms "residual limb" and simply "limb" which have been suggested are ambiguous at best, and since nothing better seems available, the word "stump" has been retained by the International Standards Organization."

Garp, I like it too.

"When I offered him the blowjob, he just smiled sheepishly and took his pants off, exposing only a useless garp."
i'd go with bo over garp, but tbh, both fit very well for the intended purpose
SandgooseXXI (113 D)

I'm sorry, I have to plus 1 the shit out of this:

"When I offered him the blowjob, he just smiled sheepishly and took his pants off, exposing only a useless garp."

Eden, aren't we trying to describe something that doesn't fit very well?

Garp is good.
"Eden, aren't we trying to describe something that doesn't fit very well?"

Quite the conundrum, isn't it? You want the sound of the word to fit the idea, but when the idea doesn't fit, does a sound that fits fit the idea?
ghug (5068 D(B))

That's why I'm in favor of using "bo." By virtue of his always being wrong for and about everything, his name fits perfectly by not fitting at all.
Maniac (184 D(B))

Buggle Boe is a Shakespearean reference to a lady's front bottom. Perhaps a bungled Bo should be a reference to a inept penis?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
28 Oct 14 UTC
Bungle Bo, yes, yes (sorry Bo I really didn't mean to make this thread about you).

"I was so afraid when he grabbed me in the alley. He whispered threats in my ear about all the horrible things he was going to do to me. But when he pulled out his bungle bo I just couldn't helpbut to burst out in laughter at him."

YJ, I don't fully understand the use of Bungle Bo. Can you give another example of it in context?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))

Sure, sure, I'll try.

"You've heard of noodling, right? When a country boy like me dangles his ol' fingers in the water, and when the fish come to eat them, I flip 'em right up into the boat! Well my cousin Billy-Sue came up with the idea that I oughter use my peck instead, by the thinkin' that a bigger bait will get us a bigger fish. Billy-Sue always was a smart one. Turns out though that the fish got the last laugh: I wasn't fast enough, and now I'm stuck with this damn bungle bo."

---

Yeah, I really think we have a winner here.

Whilst we are looking for new words can we have words for the following.

1/. A person that looks like a Steve, John or Dave but isn't actually called that name, except by me.
2/. One word that means a bit more than a little bit.
3/. A word that describes measuring things by football pitches, or Olympic swimming pools or buses.
4/. The art of pretending to forget something.
5/. The sucky kissy sound made by poker dealers to attract valets.
6/. Someone who is far luckier than skillful at cards, but believes he is truly skillful.
Maniac (184 D(B))

7/. An English word for schadenfreude

I disagree with the need for #7, maniac. If you're going to be the kind of dickhole who uses a word like schadenfreude in regular conversation, I at least want to force you to be pretentious enough to do so in another language.

Consider the arrector pili muscle, that little thing attached to hair follicles that comes into play when a mammal is subjected to stresses such as cold or fear. When the condition exists, the muscle contracts causing the hair to stand on end - probably an evolutionary mechanism that was useful for making a hairy mammal look bigger and more threatening.

Sometimes, a new word is not so necessary when a perfectly good one already exists - a goose bump in this case. "He seemed a strong strapping fellow in all dimensions until I learned an accident had rendered his manhood little more than a goose bump. I loved him all the same."

So I just bought an HTC One M7, which I very much enjoy (upgraded from a Motorola Razr...blech).

I'm debating as to whether or not to play around with rooting it -- any thoughts? Experience? I actually like HTC Sense....but I very curious about rooting.
