Well at times I am looking for names for characters. And I am entering one of those times out in the real world. Most of the characters I create are like ordinary people ~ a mix of good, strong qualities, with the usual human weaknesses. My heroes have to be flawed as well, and their heroism comes when they rise above their weaknesses, their dark side, usually only for the brief, important moments that suddenly confront them, when characters make life changing decisions. But there always have to be a few "bad characters" ~the villains in the stories ~ and similarly to my heroes, my villains and rogues must have some good within themselves, usually quite a surprising to the rogue character amount of goodness, they are not by nature bad people, they've just made poor choices, and forgotten that they are good people, they've lost touch with the parts of themselves that can bring their own redemption.
But if course there are sometimes the stupid, bad characters, lazy, selfish etc, whose goodness has been irretrievably lost within themselves.
Maybe a variation on ssorenn might be a name I could use for a fictional, extreme sleazebag, someone my readers will have virtually no sympathy for, someone they will really dislike, and of course a character who comes to an extremely nasty end. Don't expect anything soon, it's a long time from a first draft to a possible publication.
I'm working on one character that I hope my readers will really like, he's an Artist, but a young idealistic blighter, so he will suffer for that. Will he find happiness and love ? Eventually, yes of course he does. I can't call him Brainbomb, I have Basil, Barrington, and other "first" names under consideration & Blyth, or Blythe pencilled in as a surname
Basil Blythe ? Barrington Blythe ? A blithe spirit nevertheless
