Please cite statute or case law for the claim of a legal right for the protesters to be violent.

However, it's possible the police also arrested peaceful protesters and violated their rights. And it is correct to say that the Antifa protesters were not actually violating anyone's 1st Amendment rights, since the 1st Amendment pertains to government action.

Again; why is the knee jerk response to violent behavior to blame liberals? Alot of people besides liberals have reasons to do violent things (poor self discipline).

Antifa is short for anti-fascist, a movement which has been growing in popularity since video was released of Richard Spencer being punched in the face. Many people on the left don't participate in antifa violence, but the use of Captain America punching Hitler in the face is a symbol many use to excuse that violence.

first of all if you're grouping in teachers and doctors into the same socioeconomic analysis... reconsider your reality.

secondly, many of them are teachers, there was a video of a professor at NYU screaming "fuck you nazis" to the COPS' faces.

Furthermore many of the people at the protests (and we'll see who the arrested people were soon) were students.

these are not lower-income down on their feet people, and these aren't the super wealthy.

No, i think i've been clear, advocating genocide is itself an act of violence, and should not be protected by the 1st amendment.

And punching Neo Nazis, who have a history of advocating genocide, is acceptable under the 'defence of others' requirement.
