@ jv: There is no map. Mafia is played on the forum only. It's a guessing game, with two teams. The "town" is the more numerous team. Hidden amongst the town is a smaller "mafia" team. Although the Mafia are few in number, they have the advantage that they know who their team consists of, whereas at the start, no town player knows the alignment of anyone else.

By debate, questioning, and a daily "lynch" of a suspect, the town tried to find the Mafia. The mafia try to stay hidden and, each night, they murder a town player.

Town win if they catch all the Mafia. Mafia win if they kill all the town, or reach a point where this cannot be escaped.

@ Chaqa: Yes, I did. I PM'ed a dozen or so players who had played at least a couple of previous games. Warden and Damian were among them. Warden replied to say he is not interested.
