Best way to brew coffee.

I think a stovetop percolator is the best and anyone who disagrees should be doomed to playing as Austria for the next 1000 games.

Australian Politics, please explain
What is with the rivalry between Abbott and Turnbull? Is it really a geographical split within the Liberal Party between the influence of Sydney and Victoria? Or is it something ideological that I cannot discern? They both seem plenty rightwing to me.

Watching a show, but it's a commercial. No way I am playing a game with a END time that isn't standard. Sorry.
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
26 Jan 16 UTC
@ wjessop: ""Standard non-24-hour end time" is meaningless."

No, it is not.

The standard end time would be 36 hours after the start of the day phase.

36 is not 24.

End.
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
26 Jan 16 UTC
@ wjessop: "I'm intetested to know, jamie, which time zone you feel is unfairly favoured by the current Day End system"

I would suggest that the "current Day End system" as you call it, is disadvantageous to anyone in UTC +1, +2, and +3 time zones. That's most of continental Europe.

As it is, to be awake at the EOD and participate in the immediate EOD revelations and reactions, I've had to be awake until at least 1am UK time. Imagine having to be awake until 3am if you're in central or eastern europe.

I'm not complaining, just responding since you asked me - but the current arrangement is definitely skewed towards the convenience of players in the Americas. That might be fine, because a majority of players are from that area - but it's nevertheless a fact.

I still think "standard non-24-hour end time" sounds like oppressive jargon.

I'm not convinced as to what's 'standard' about what you describe.

Not having a go, just saying.

Whom am I attempting to oppress?

Stop being silly, Wjessop.

"I'm not convinced as to what's 'standard' about what you describe"

"Standard" in the sense that it would be a standard duration of 36 hours every time. That is, as opposed to having D1 being 5 hours long, D2 being 84 hours long, D3 being 11 hours, and so on.

Lol no. Ventrilo is 2008. Teamspeak is timeless.

Seriously though, if we need to have a chat, use Google Hangouts. If we need voice, use Teamspeak. It has the highest quality.

I like discord. You don't have to use it, but that's how we're organizing EM games for the most part.

It just seems kind of... odd? I've never heard of it before, and it is weird to use when all of us already have each other on Steam.
Durga (3609 D)
27 Jan 16 UTC
Steam doesn't have this sort of interface and group chat options. Not even close.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
27 Jan 16 UTC
Maybe, but it fits into one of the chat programs most people already have. I don't want to have to install some other bloatware to serve a function I've got already with three other programs.
